Did you take the new quiz on Latin phrases yet? Fun, and I've not had Latin since high school. Know how long ago that was? LOL

I took 3 years of Latin in high school (someone told me it would be good for my planned nursing degree). Ok - so I use it for some medical directions - but other than that don't remember any of it.

Of course, I don't remember Algebra or Geometry either.;)

Gosh, for those of us who have COMPLETELY forgotten our latin(and I took two years of it in school)-----you guys should let us know what the phrases mean!

Carpe Deim

Et tu Brutus?

Seize the day

And you Brutus? (that's more thanks to Shakespeare and Julius Ceasar than Latin class though)

Veni, Vidi, Vici (I came, I saw, I conquered)

Gloria Patri (Glory be to the Father) - one of my favorite doxology songs growing up - we sang it every week in the Presbyterian church (don't think I've ever been at a Presby church that didn't sing it). I'm trying to get my music leader to add it to our list:thumbsup:
