My teeth are working against me. I enjoy visiting the dentist.
I often did it in hassle. so I ended up at the dentist with a root canal treatment..
Was brushing the teeth better.. But no flossing, because I did not like it at all, and it was not a routine.
Next result; Getting a crown soon
So FINALLY I see the benefits of brushing well and flossing well. ugh.
Don't feel too bad. I went from age 12 until about 23 hardly ever brushing my teeth. Didn't see any real reason to. Then when I was 23 after noticing cavities, I ended up needing more fillings than I can count. But now that the damage is repaired, I brush twice a day, floss once a day, and use fluoride rinse. I also recently discovered the amazing benefits of Xylitol. I don't remember the last time I had a cavity that needed to be filled. Of course, I regret not taking care of my teeth earlier in life, but I feel like I've learned from those mistakes and am now on the right path.
Wait. Are you serious?? Did you never date in your teens & early 20s?
Nope. Still don't. Somehow, I don't think my teeth is the reason.
Well my girl makes a face if I kiss her after eating Doritos or a tuna sub without brushing my teeth or popping a piece of gum. I definitely think dental hygiene plays a role in having a good dating life, lol.
That should be part of a motivational series; "Brush your personality, the right way."Maybe my personality is what needs a toothbrush. I'm quite the introvert.

Me too. I get particularly interested during the cleaning. It's about the closest face time I get with a female. I like looking into their eyes.My teeth are working against me. I enjoy visiting the dentist.

(Boy, that sounded creepy; creepier than I meant it to be.)
This thread is to discuss your dental habits as far as brushing your teeth, flossing, mouth-wash, oil pulling, dentist checkups, or whatever else you want to talk about in the realm of dental care.
I see at least one person has stated they have braces. I've been pretty good with oral health. Brush a few times a day at least. Rinse many times a day, used to use various brands but, after consulting several dentists, they all suggest ACT. When I went to the store to look for it, I see there are 4-6 different kinds of ACT. Started using that brand. Flossing is something I actually enjoy doing. It just feels good to have a clean mouth. Was going to get a little cosmetic work done earlier this year and the dentist strongly suggested me getting braces. That was hard to take due to its cost and other isssues. They told me ( had a few consultations ), that my bite was causing my teeth to wear funny and, in the long term, I would be better off.
So, had to really ponder on that for a few months but, am now in my 2nd month wearing braces. The biggest pain is I cannot floss in a normal way and it is very tedious to do. Eating is a whole 'nuther experience with much of your food staying in your mouth without knowing it, etc. Am still learning how to deal with it. I have my next appt on Monday. I will floss for sure while he has the wires off. ugh.
Of well, I will be better off in the long run with nicer, straighter teeth. I cannot see kids going through this. At least as an adult , I decided to do it, am paying for it, etc. it can be tough. But, am looking forward to a nicer smile in less than 2 years.
Something else I wanted to suggest for my Christian friends without insurance-
Strongly consider going to a dental school. I started going to a dental university in Mesa, Az, there is also one in Mo. It is called AT Still University. It has been a very good experience. Nice people, very professional, very affordable. I plan to be a student there for life. I've met a few very attractive gals there too! Something I had not thought of. It is a great experience, you just need to be patient. They do not move you in and out, like cattle, as they do at a regular office. You may be there 2-4 hours. I bring a book and or my lap top and am fine waiting.
