Kewl! Are you getting the 15 or 17 inch? I would doubt it if you'd regret getting a PBook. Let me know if you need any help with your switch.

We're counting game consoles?

1991-1996 Genesis, SNES, Sega CD, Game Gear
1995-1999 Sega Saturn, Playstation

I don't really want to bother with consoles any more.

1998-1999
Pentium MMX 233, 64 MG RAM, 2 Gig HD, 4 MG 3DFX

Celeron 450 MHz, 64 MG RAM(later 384), 13 Gig HD(later 53), TNT 16 MG 3D card(later GeForce2 64 MG)
Notebook Pentium 4 2.4 GHz, 512 MG RAM, 40 Gig HD, 128 MG ATI Radeon 9000 3D card, 15.4" widescreen(which I just broke:cry:)

I don't remember the years exactly but here's my basic history:

3rd Grade: Played around on some Apple or Mac computers that were at school and even tried to mess with the settings! I was mischievous... :p

Around 6th grade: My grandparents bought their first computer and my first computer. It was a Windows 95 computer with 100 mhz Intel Pentium Processor. Only had 32mb of RAM too. Or maybe it was 16mb. The hard drive was a mere 1 gig. I really can't remember. All I know is it was STONE AGE!

Around 9th grade: My grandparents upgraded to a Windows 98 SE computer. It was 333mhz Intel Pentium 2 with 64mb of RAM I think. They still have this computer. Needless to say, I really liked the upgrade until I realized that a game that I seriously wanted (Empire Earth) required 350mhz processor. The hard drive on it is a 4 gig hard drive.

October 2002: After waiting for 2 long months, my Windows XP Pro computer finally arrived at college for Networking classes. It has an Intel Pentium 4 2.53ghz processor with 512mb of RAM, a DVD-ROM drive, and a CD-RW drive. The hard drive was 80 gigs which was way more than I have ever had before. And best of all, I own this computer! :D

I could easily have an 80gb HDD filled within a matter of minutes. ^_^

I grew up on a Commodore, still have the parts to it in my bedroom, somewhere. Next, we had a computer with MS Dos with Norton Commander, gosh, I loved Norton Commander! When I was in second grade, after my parent split, Mom got me a Packard Bell. I can't remember what processer it had, but it had Win 95, and the computer didn't seem to like me, as we reformatted it four times the first year, and once a year after that. Then, Mom got me a 1.2 AMD Thunderbird, with Win ME.

For Dad, we had a 486, then a EMachine, with Win 98, and a 400 some Celaron. Now, we have a Dell with 2.19 Pentium.

Now, gaming devices? We've had Atari, Nintendo (It's my brothers though), SNES, and a Sega Genesis. The Atari, SNES, and Sega Genesis are all in my bedroom, and I haven't been able to get them to work. I also have an old school clunky gameboy.

The first ever computer game I played was an old Systema hand held video game featuring a car race that my dad had bought for me during the first year of my life in England. Then we went all techno (lol) and bought another hand held game but this time its our old pal Sonic the hedgehog featuring on Sega. Anyone remember good old Sega? Ah, those were the days!! Then when I moved to the South of England my dad got us this ancient computer console called ZX Spectrum. It came with a bundle of beautiful games that I was so pleased with. These games are now ancient history of course but for me in those days they were worth more than all the gold in South Africa.
Playing those games was like driving a Lada through the streets of Moscow, Kiev and St. Petersburg! So sorry for that bad analogy since I know most Americans wont understand what a Lada is!
But anyway, then I sorta leap frogged to Sega's Mega Drive console on which I played such classics as Street Fighter (HOOORAY!!!) and The REVENGE OF SHINOBI.
Credit here also goes to that classic games company called CAPCOM.
Now, folks, we're moving onto PC territory! Drum rolls please...
My first ever PC - Compaq Presario, 200mhz, 32mb RAM, Intel Pentuim 1 processor. Now, my Compaq PC came with some amazing games like Time Commando and Microsoft Football. I used this PC up until about 2002/03!!!! Now, sadly, its new home is the garage...
But anyway, I write this on my new PC which is a Dell Dimension, Pentium 4, 2.53ghz, 256mb RAM. I also have an Acer Aspire Laptop which has an AMD Athlon chip featuring 2.4ghz processor and 256mb RAM. Memory upgrade is an option on my laptop but I hardly find that will be an imperative for the work I do on it. Sadly, no free games came with either of my two new PC's!!!
