I believe the Lord is calling me to prophesy, to open peoples eyes to the truth and to gather the Saints.... I have got messages from the Lord a long time now... but I am still learning and waiting for him to tell me with clarity and making sure this is what the Lord wants, to edify the church and for his glory.

What do you feel that God is calling you to do?

Absolutely nothing. If I'm walking in the Spirit there is absolutely nothing I am doing. I can just rest in His finished work for me.

Now being in that rest often takes on forms that look to the outsider like I'm doing something. But I'm not! :D

For me, the Lord has called me to teach & music ministry. As to which of the two is more dominate, I would say teaching leads slightly. When doing music, (I play guitar) I would rather be in the background than take the leadership position. I'm very content to being 2nd fiddle. But I love to play and worship the Lord with the precious gift He has given me.

With teaching, I find myself so absorbed in the study lessons that I don't know when to stop. Right now I'm nearing the end of a sunday school topic "Life in the Spirit" which has been going on since the first week in April (I teach the adult class). It was suppose to have been a thirteen week study, but like I said, I get too absorbed in it. it has been very rewarding and enlightening. Alot of what I've been sharing in this forum has been from these lessons. I know that when I'm done with what I'm doing now, I will need a long break from teaching, just to re-gather my thoughts, but I know that within a couple of weeks I'll be itching to start teaching again.

Years ago I went to a Chruch of God church for over 7 years. They do not believe in the gifts but anyway I told the lord when I was praying that the word says out of the mouth of 2-3 witnesses. So I asked him to just confirm what I really already new and I thought it would take maybe months. That night 3 people came up to me (at different times) and said you know you should be a preacher. Talk about being blown away

Jesus I am so in love with you...

This is not to offend.
Please specify what city the Church of God you are speaking of is governed from when using the mane COG. For example, the oldest Pentecostal church's name is Church of God (Cleveland, TN). I believe that the one that you are speaking of is Church of God (Anderson, Indiana)

The Church of God is right,
Halelujah to the lamb!!!

I agree. The CoG, Cleveland strongly believes in the gifts. Did you attend Anderson, or maybe a WorldWide CoG, or CoG International? I believe these last two are far more cessationist.

I'm not sure where God is calling me to right now. I have an opportunity to join a prison ministry team (first night was last Tuesday, had a great time). But I've also felt this call to assist ministry to children in third world countries. I've started that by placing a page on my website that lists a lot of charitable, international organizations, and an exhortation to contribute financially and in prayer.

I feel I have been called to be an overseas missionary...To bring the Gospel to places they have not heard it before...It will take a bit of work...first of all, getting to know them, befriending them, learning their language, and all the rest...and I think when I finish school, I'll get an apprenticeship as maybe a builder or a plumber or something, just so I have something I can teach the people I minister to.

:) not offended at all. Now when I said did not believe in the gifts I ment that Church. For I new the pastor very very well. I have seen churchs that there "governed group" say they believe in gifts but not all the churchs in that group do. I am not from any Chuch of God background. All I can tell you about who they were is they washed there feet I believe onece a year. So forgive me for I did not want to offend anyone. Now I believe in all the gifts but I did not think this church was wrong in anyway. Jesus is the reason.
