  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

How often do you depend on your own attire?

The following is an excerpt from:
"TENDER JOURNEY A Continuing Story For Our Troubled Times"
By: James P. Gills, M.D. & Heartlight
with my additions

..."A knight wants to guard his castle & kingdom...Thus he wears a coat of armor when dueling with his enemies. A business man, on the other hand, desires to succeed in a demanding marketplace. The coat of armor would be quite a hinderance there. His suit & tie gives him the look of authority he needs. And a runner who seeks to win races wears lightweight athletic clothes to give him the advantage. In other words...each one’s outfit fits the task at hand quite nicely. "But,..." he continued, "what if anyone of those same men saw his house burning down, with his family inside? His outfit would do him no good at all! He would need firefighter’s equipment - an asbestos suit, a mask, a hatchet, a hose attached to a water supply . . . " ... He continued, "For all humanity, life’s road ends at a ‘burning building.’ The Bible cautions us of that fact & gives us 1 way to escape destruction.
Jesus Christ is our ‘fireproof suit,’ so to speak. Things may get hot, but with Him we’ll not be burned. On the other hand, if we depend on our own attire, however seemingly useful in this life, we will die. If we have Christ on we will be saved!" ... "The question from this point forward is, do we KEEP the suit of Him ON AT ALL TIMES, in preparation for the fiery trials to come? Or do we put it on once a week? Or do we hang it up after a single wearing? ... Assuming we’ll have enough forewarning to put it back on. One day all will know the choice we have made."

Do you think that wearing our suit of Him make us unfit for our daily lives?

Even professional firefighters don't wear their full regalia all the time or even most the time. Maybe I don't get the point of your analogy.

The Armor of God is weightless unlike firemen's suits.

The Armor of God protects us better than firemen's suits.

The evil that is to come at us is eminant & definate.

If we are NOT prepared with the weightless Armor of God, we may be injured or even die!

The Armor of God is even lighter & more protective than Kevlar.
