  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Hi, my first post in this section.
I live in the Shetland Islands, it's quiet when you want to be quiet and lively when you want to be lively. The weather is variable!

What lively things happen in shetland Islands?

I live in Chelmsford, in Essex. I like it, really - despite the bad reputation that Essex has (or at least Essex girls and Essex boys!). I've lived here most of my life, and seen a lot of changes, but right now I'd say it's a really great place to live - it's a good town in its own right, and not far from the country. Also, if I need to get away, it's got good transport links.

However, my girlfriend lives in Bishop's Stortford, Hertfordshire, and I'll be joining her there when we get married. I was there yesterday, and I greatly enjoyed it - it's a lot smaller than Chelmsford, feels far cosier, and again very near the countryside. Also lots of good transport links, and the fact that it's really close to Stansted Airport isn't as offputting as I'd expected.

Essex is more east end than the actual east end nowadays ive heard.

Bit like how outside of Leicester city its more Leicester than up in Belgrave.

I live in Beeston in Leeds. It's allegardly the place in Leeds where all cultures get along side the best. If this is the case, I dread to think what other parts of Leeds are like.
I live the bottem of the hill, about 100 yards from the world famous Elland Rd. Handy for match days. Top of the hill provides great views across Leeds.
Quite near to the Yorkshire Moores and Yorkshire Dales. Except thats not really my cup of tea. But I guess it is for some people.
Lots of nice pubs in Leeds. A mixture of trendy wine bars, and dodgy looking pubs which I much prefer.
Great for shopping. Much better then Manchester.
The only down side is, in my 21 years living in Leeds, I've never really seen the city be set on fire spiritually. A very small Christian family in Leeds.
