I have heard this line alot. I have said it in prayer many times. But how many times in our life (judging by where we are now and might end up) will have the chance to give the ultimate sacrifice for God?

I have this question, for myself and others, Will you lay down your reputation? Friends? Job? Money? Family?

For a while I wasnt really sure I was able to lay my life down for the Lord, I could easily say i would, but i knew in my heart i couldnt... but in the past few months God has really shown me a lot... He laid His life down for us unworthy beings, and now i can safely say, I am willing to lay down my life, and all of my earthly belongings, For my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ

I have nothing to lose personally, but I know a few people who would be upset if I was gone... so uhh... Of course, I put God above them, but I just hope I never get in that sort of situation because I wouldn't want what few friends I have to miss me if you know what I mean hey...

Sometimes I wonder in the cosiness of our lives in the Western world if we appreciate what it really means to lay down our lives. Having met people from Rwanda, Sudan, Ethiopia, India, Pakistan and Korea their stories of living each day like it is their last in the hope of a soon coming God, is both deep and very troubling.

I would like to believe that by the grace of God I would lay down my life, even lose my family for his name's sake. I sometimes (selfishly) pray that I would never have to be in that situation, but if I was my stronger prayer is that i would be able to do what ever God wills me to do.

The more I think about this, the more deeper it dawns on me how I have to put my trust in God above ALL others....

Blessings

NASB Job 1:21 He said,
"Naked I came from my mother's womb,
And naked I shall return there.
The LORD gave and the LORD has taken away.
Blessed be the name of the LORD."

Everything I have He gave... if He asks for it, who am I to say "no"?

Besides if I lay down my life for Him, I wind up with Him in less than a minute. If He is calling me, my work for Him is finished and I enter into my inheritance and meet Him face to face. Why should I say "no" to that?

Matt_16:25 "For whoever wishes to save his life will lose it; but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it."
