what leaders? they have there own agendas, which are always against the word of God, and morally corrupt.
I don't know about anyone else but my leader is Jesus and he's not here yet. I hope and pray he soon will be.
The leaders at the time the New Testament were an occupation government (Rome controlling its Jewish colony. Like it or not, elected Bush. According to Rom. 13 he is leader. God will judge the veracity of his Christian testimony. Our job is to pray for a guy that has his hands on the economy and nuclear weaponry of the world. If you like him, it's easy to pray. If you don't trust him, you really need to pray.

Let me put it this way: when a tree bears rotten, unappealing fruit, or no fruit at all, that is one thing. When a tree takes the appearance of luscious apples, which entice you to cultivate the tree & take a bite--but inside they are full of poison--that is far worse. And that is how I view our "Christian" administration, whom I even voted for in 2000.

So, because Bush says he's a Christian, but doesn't do your bidding, you refuse to pray for him, and accuse him of baring deceivingly rotten fruit? You don't have to pray for him personally--pray that God grant him wisdom, since you don't trust him and he is in such a powerful position.

There are thousands or millions of non-Christians who will never eat apples ever again.

The accurate # might be 10s of thousands--which is at the very low end of your range. Millions? Hyperbole of this type makes you appear rather silly.

Yes, war is awful. I'll not debate the rightness or wrongness of it in this case, but to say that sincere, and well-meaning Christians were on both sides of this issue--and in the U.S.--most were on the side of war.

BTW, your desire to divest from Israel is rather telling. Perhaps Bush's loyalty to our one best democratic ally is what has your goat?

But the truth is, if our leaders acted like Christians our nations would fall shortly. A leader can't be humble, he has to be confident and sometimes aggresive. If someone invades our country he can't give them "the other cheek", he has to fight back... (sp?)
Perhaps the confusion here, is that Jesus mostly taught individuals and small groups of Christians, how to live in a world that was hostile to their faith. Our challenge is to live the gospel life in a society that is as much as 85% Christian (at least according to claimed affiliation). America is often accused of being a bully, of being arrogant, and in some ways we are brash--more because of our rugged invidualism, than any true national arrogance.

America has much power, and so, has probably done much that requires answering for. On the other hand, show me a nation that is most powerful and wealthy, that has not been a bully. Relatively speaking, we've done pretty well.

So--again--enemies of Bush, pray for the man you don't trust. Loyalists--you know what to do!
