I love the way our bro John calls us "little children" in his EpistlesYet John was teaching.
2:1 My little children, I am writing these things to you so that you may not sin. But if anyone does sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous.
Yeah I'd agree. Everyone has something they can teach to others.
Ahh.....I just now noticed the greek word used in that verseYet John was teaching.

Young) 1 John 2:1 My little children/teknia <5040>, these things I write to you, that ye may not sin: and if any one may sin, an advocate we have with the Father, Jesus Christ, a righteous one,

Strong's Number G5040 matches the Greek τεκνίον (teknion), which occurs 9 times in 9 verses in the Greek concordance
5040. teknion tek-nee'-on diminutive of 5043; an infant, i.e. (plural figuratively) darlings (Christian converts):--little children.
5043. teknon tek'-non from the base of 5098; a child (as produced):--child, daughter, son.
Young) Revelation 12:5 and she brought forth a male child, who is about to rule all the nations with a rod of iron, and caught away was her child/teknon <5043> unto God and His throne,
Actually, the pedagogue was appointed by the father to mind and tutor the child - sort of a nanny for boys who were being educated.
The pedagogue would help with homework, learning the lessons accurately, and make sure the child didn't get in trouble on the way to and from school.
This is also interesting.Ahh.....I just now noticed the greek word used in that verse

they were strict disciplinarians, same word as galatians 3:24. Where they were viewed as wardens, imprisoned kind of thing.
I read they used to pinch the children if they were naughty.![]()
Some were bad, some were good at what they did.
Sort of the usual human range
They could be dismissed from their role at the father's discretion.
Like the true teachers were building the confidences of others up in reliance and trust in the Holy Spirit for them. They kept displacing it on men, so even as these are men teaching, they are not (at the same time) preaching themselves. These were helps for the building up of others faith in Christ.
As with all the talents given by God
And if the use of the term "pedagogue" is considered, then to consider the role reflected in admonishment and bearing burdens -- things Paul both does and demonstrates.
Recall, the pedagogues were used so that the father (who has the chief responsibility for the father) could better keep at his other responsibilities. But the father still keeps "watch" over the character and actions of the pedagogue (well, he should).

You (of all folks) should so know (by now) I am very dense with big words lol
My eyes sorta glaze over when I see them (and overpast posts when I do) Well, unless you call me on it (as you just did)
Come again my sister? lol

Sorry !!
I agree with you here:
Those who guide (whatever we call them) given one of the many talents given by God for the building up of all.
And with pedagogues, the father (which Paul calls himself) could fire a lousy pedagogue. But a good pedagogue was essential for fathers that were busy with their work, to ensure the child was guided aright.
I'm sorry, FiF - sometimes I don't make sense even to myself![]()
