Its coming! A Birthday Party! A Celebration like no other! You are all invited!
Summer is over with and the fall leaves fill the streets and yards in many places around the World. The air is cool, jackets and sweaters have come out of the closets to be worn by all who feel the chill of winter approaching.
There are songs starting to fill the air with melodies that we are all familiar with. Stores, shopping centers are filling with customers who are looking for special gifts. Childrens faces smile with anticipation, for they know that something is going to happen soon.
Meals are being planned, families and friends are being contacted, cards are being written and mailed, and children are making lists.
Schools are preparing, children are memorizing and studying parts for special programs that will lure parents.
Churches are dusting off props, designing programs, assigning responsibilities, and sorting costumes that will be used to tell a story about a special up and coming event! Choirs are practicing, soloists are singing!
Nativity scenes are being displayed everywhere with characters that give the appearance of realism, a reason for the coming season!
Small lights of various colors are being exhibited around houses and businesses that light up the cold dark nights. Cars are making their way slowly down streets so that their occupants can see all that has been displayed. Some stop, take pictures while others stand in admiration to see a child in swaddling clothes who has come to represent this special time of the year! For Christmas is almost here!
The Good News of the birth of our Savior is starting to be spread around the World because it is time for us to once again celebrate His arrival into the World! His birth heralded a new era for us all! It is time for us to say thank you for everything that He has done for us!
It is a special time of the year for those of us who understand the significance of celebrating the birth of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ! We have come to appreciate what our Father has done for us by allowing His Son to pay the ultimate price for our sins and we have come to appreciate the sacrifice of our Savior who through His obedience has allowed us to be reunited with our Father who loves us the most!
What a joy it is to be a part of a family who appreciates and understands each other and who looks forward to being together for all eternity!
I am thankful for Christmas because it brings attention to our Savior. In all the hustle and bustle, with all that has been added to this celebration there is a truth that stands out above all and it gives the entire World an opportunity to examine the reason for this season!
As we prepare for this coming event let us take the time to examine our hearts and allow the goodness that has been given to us pass through us to a lost and dying generation who are waiting for the Good News of His coming again!
