My dad tells me every time we fight about religion that I'm headed straight for hell and he'll pray for me. Lol, those who have only been told that over the internet are quite lucky indeed.

He is in some areas, but religion is not one of them. He doesn't understand anything besides Christianity, which I understand its what he was raised in and he's the type of man who only wants to know what he thinks he needs to know. But he knows nothing about other religions and makes vast sweeping generalizations about other religions about which he knows absolutely nothing. So no, he's not a critical thinker or an intelligent thinker when it comes to religion in general.

yw, my mom has recently started reading the bible and stuff, i think under the influence of a friend of hers from work, she hasnt told me im going to hell yet but she complains about some thing i say, such as when me and my brother were talking about the chicken and the egg and i said thats easy the egg came first cause the almost chicken laid an egg that became a full chicken, and then my mom just randomly interupts and says unless you believe god put them here, so i said except that evolution is proven. I can respect people believeing that god guided evolution or whatever, but believeing creation is wrong, you can believe that 2+2=50 all you want it still doesnt make it true.He is in some areas, but religion is not one of them. It is neither ethical nor moral, furthermore it is markedly unethical and undoubtedly immoral.
I don't. If they really believe that then it's their moral duty to point it out. If they believe that humans are causing global warming it's their moral duty to point it out. If they believe that cheese causes insanity it's their moral duty to point it out. What concerns me more than any of this is that they believe there is a hell or a god to put them there.
