British food gets a bad rap, but I discovered Yorkshire Pudding this season and think it's one of the great contributions to world cuisine.

Question for folks from the UK: I don't know what the right flavor profile is for the sausages used in Toad in the Hole. I've used American breakfast sausage and it was good, but what would be closer to the real thing?

Last night I made a delicious roast beef and put up batter to sit overnight. You know what's on the menu today!

Yummmmm....

Henceforth let no man trash-talk Britsh cuisine in my presence!

When I was living in a children's home, we used to have a cook who used to come in the afternoons to make our evening tea.
She used to make a fabulous toad in the hole. Jokingly, she used to tell me in her Devonshire accent that she had just "been down to get the toads from the cellar".
And yes her Toad in the Hole was the best. Nothing fancy. Just thick plain sausages in a well risen Yorkshire pudding batter - with lashings of onion gravy. A lot of people these days add too much flavour to the dish, but it's the simple onion gravy that completes this dish.
