  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Beloved... posted this in another room and got nil...
hoping to get some real Christian feedback here.
GBY all...

Rev

Anybody else out there unevenly yoked? My wife is saved... but little victory. We both came to Christ in our 40s (after years of cluelessness) and while it seems I have matured in Christ and found much success and victory, my wife still lives with much less joy. I've been praying for years for the Lord to really move in her life, but...
She won't talk about God on any level with me.
I've learned not to start those fights.

I handle it OK but feel badly that she can't see some of those blessings that are abundently clear to me.

His,
Rev J

ps: It gets lonely, not being able to share (Christ) with the one you love mos

Yes I have been experiencing the same..

Only when I see this in faith do I have hope and joy and peace..

We must must must walk in faith.. not by sight..

I look at what is not happening and get discouraged..

Rather I must praise God for He is hearing my prayers and working in my heart and in my husbands heart.. For the joy of the Lord is my strength!!

Praise makes me look not at the outward workinds but at the inward and unseen hand guiding us both.. But God is not just inward He is everywhere!! Halleujah..

What satan has meant for harm.. God is using to save many.. including us!!

Be blessed..

Call those things that be not as though they are and watch things change!! Praise God as if you were both on fire.. and see that this does not spark something of the same!!

Use your faith.. and see the future.. and call it into being!!

2 Corinthians 4:18
While we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things that are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal!!

I also have the same situation. Jesus revealed himself to me in a dramatic, I can't question this, way. My husband's faith is more pragmatic and intellectual. He's never experienced Christ but he keeps trying.....

I'm learning to not let my husband's intellectualism smother my enthusiasm for the Lord. God's timing and my timing usually don't agree - and guess who's timing matters most? I'm learning I need to let God work in my husband's life at a pace that is meaningful to him. I pray for my husband, I quietly witness to him, but I stay clear of certain spiritual topics. He just doesn't get it and judges some of it as nonsense. I count baby steps such as saying grace as a family as a major victory. Someday, who knows, maybe my husband and I will actually pray together!

I know this is not helping much, but maybe it helps to know you are not alone. I will pray for you. It is hard to be unequally or unevenly yoked. God bless.

About the same time for us pc. I'm not giving up... I'm keeping up the praises and still seeing the glass as half full. I appreciate all the kind words and prayers.

I've also been praying that God would send me 1 good Christian male friend. Been praying for that one about a yr. The waiting is the hardest part... for me.

His,
Rev J

Hey, ya'll! Just chiming in my 2 cents worth!
My husband is a believer, but I guess you could call him carnal. He is not walking with the Lord, and can get rather condescending when we discuss anything spiritual. Also, 2 of my children are definitely in the enemies camp at this present time. HOWEVER! I have had assurances from the Lord that they will return to him, those 2 and my husband, and one other child that claims to be christian, but is also not living for the Lord. I pray every day and thank the Lord for bringing them back, for opening their eyes to truth and revealing the love of God to them.
One thing that is reassuring...one of my children asked me to STOP praying for them because they could feel it, the "aura" was getting clogged up because of my prayers. (Yes, I still continue to pray!) (are you kidding? Victory is just around the corner!)So be assured, beloved children of God! Your prayers have effect!!! Dont give up! Keep pressing in!
But yeah, it gets kinda lonely at home with no one to talk about God to. Thank the Good Lord for discussion forums, hey?

Hi, I love this post about praying for kids. Your positive attitude is beautiful! I beleive that too. My kids are already saved in my minds eye because of the prayers I have prayed for them. I've placed then in the Father's hand while answering His call for my life. (they hate to hear me talk about Him, and I don't give the answers they want most times, so it can get strained) but I beleive that God is working their lives to bring them to the learning He has for them whether they are aware of it or not.

Continue to pray for those that
Need the Lord as even though they are
Belivers and hope that they are
Still continue to pray for them
To obey the Lord's will!
Do His will!
