CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Yet also... it would be foolish to think we're islands unto ourselves either.
And furthermore, pursuing happiness as the end may be the best way not to find it.

Say amen to that! Thank you for posting. I'll learn to not be offended, pray for him and change myself and stick to the Lord. Let Him reign in my circumstances.
My father was an atheist. My parents had a terrible marriage. When my mother came back to the Lord, He taught her to forgive and bless him and not be offended. It worked. They have a great marriage now.

Huh. Your title really made me think: If we are yoked with Christ, are we not 'unequally yoked'? Yet he lowers himself so that we may be raised up with him.

Am I allowed in this section? I can't remember. I just wanted to say its obvious Christ is our first love. But we must also remember that some feel the need to marry. So in doing so that also brings them happiness. It doesn't mean you love Christ less. Its like there are two forms of love. The love I have for Christ can never be matched for the love I have for my soon to be wife.
Its why I tell her she is the stars in my universe and God is the universe itself. Also I've always noted the bible verse that says as husbands we should love our wife like we love Christ. Which I tell her I feel that way for sure. After all with Christs love for me (and my love for Him) I would have never met her.
