With all of that room in his palace, you'd think he would have invited them to come stay with him.

Maybe he could sell off a few million in artwork to set them up in a business of their own so they could become self sufficient.

You do understand the Pope doesn't actually own any of the art work or things in the Vatican, right? :sorry:

No. And that's totally unrelated to the issue here. The Pope didn't do this personally, he delegated it. And it's tokenism, yet he has assets at his disposal that are far in excess of the ordinary Christians you are comparing to him. Get it now? :doh:

I think you are overestimating how much power the pope has over the Vatican's finances. Or maybe I am underestimating? Any Catholics around actually know how much power the pope wields in the Vatican? is it as absolute as Albion assumes?

I'm not.

But even if people point to certain limitations on his actions (like he couldn't sell off all the artwork on his own volition), he still has quite substantial assets that he could direct to charity--and that's all that needs to be said about that.
