Yet another hypothetical

Lets say there was a group of people who went round condemning, ooh say, eating apples, some of the more extreme ones go to the funerals of apple eaters who died and picket the cemetary with signs about how the vile apple muncher is going to burn in hell for all eternity. No matter how much you ask them to explain why it is wrong to eat apples they respond with innanities like:

• God himself has condemned eating apples and I have an out of context quote from a really old book to prove it!
• You know that it is wrong really, you just don't want to admit it because you are too selfish
• What next? One second people are eating apples, the next they might start killing and eating each other. Its a slippery slope!

How would that make you feel?

Well, hypotheticly, there is nothing wrong with eating normal apples. Now maybe these were poisionous apples.

Are we likening this to abortion or just sinning?

I guess, well, maybe by reading this we are just going with a likening to Christians saying someone will die and burn in fire for all eternity. Well, probably then the feeling would be to the effect of condemantion. Perhaps a more gentle demonstration of how one feels is in order?

Many time most laws of God are always helpful. Like lets say not lying. Lying usualy brings about even worse situations, like lying in court.

The rule about not wearing clothing with mixed fibres is helpful, also. It prevents hideous fashion mishaps.
