Some of us make more spelling mistakes then others and even though we have minds that can usually make out what word is intended even by horribly misspelled words. I think we do have a tendency to hold the writer in less esteem if it is filled with misspelled words. Poor grammar is less a problem because frankly most of us don't know the grammar rules and if we did learn them we easily forget them.
Technology has come to the rescue however. You can get the Google tool bar free for either IE or Firefox and it can check the spelling in cute little boxes like this. It is a must have.
And we will all look smarter to each other and to visitors.

5 errors corrected in this post. Though I still am not convinced Google has to be capitalized or that FireFox should have a capital in the second f like the spell check suggested.
