Yes indeed !
And the holiness which God's imparts , is one and the same , as the one which He requires !
Which means , woe unto us , if we attempt to add to , or diminish God's Holiness in any way which is out of Christ's Character .
One example of trying to add improperly is that of foolish pride vying to figure in -
Which say, Stand by thyself, come not near to me; for I am holier than thou. These are a smoke in my nose, a fire that burneth all the day. <-----> Isaiah 65:5
And he spake this parable unto certain which trusted in themselves that they were righteous, and despised others:
Two men went up into the temple to pray; the one a Pharisee, and the other a publican.
The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, God, I thank thee, that I am not as other men are, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this publican.
I fast twice in the week, I give tithes of all that I possess.
And the publican, standing afar off, would not lift up so much as his eyes unto heaven, but smote upon his breast, saying, God be merciful to me a sinner.
I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other: for every one that exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted. <-----> Luke 18:9-14
And an example of trying to diminish God's holiness is wrongly promising His favor -
Because with lies ye have made the heart of the righteous sad, whom I have not made sad; and strengthened the hands of the wicked, that he should not return from his wicked way, by promising him life: <-----> Ezekiel 13:22
These are wells without water, clouds that are carried with a tempest; to whom the mist of darkness is reserved for ever.
For when they speak great swelling words of vanity, they allure through the lusts of the flesh, through much wantonness, those that were clean escaped from them who live in error.
While they promise them liberty, they themselves are the servants of corruption: for of whom a man is overcome, of the same is he brought in bondage. <-----> 2nd Peter 2:17-19
But ye have not so learned Christ;
If so be that ye have heard him, and have been taught by him, as the truth is in Jesus:
That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts;
And be renewed in the spirit of your mind;
And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness. <-----> Ephesians 4:20-24
Note how Scripture sensed the need to distinguish that there is such a thing as " true holiness " , which indicates there is also a " false holiness " .
And how do " false things " come into being ?
But by the distortion of " the true " ; namely , by adding , and / or diminishing in " out of Divine Character " ways .
Wherefore , our stewardship becomes a central and prominent theme and issue .
As every man hath received the gift, even so minister the same one to another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God. <-----> 1st Peter 4:10
And if , " good stewards " are being distinguished ; it also means , there are " bad stewards " .
And how does someone , become bad ?
But by striving to add to , or diminish The Truth of God's Word !
What thing soever I command you, observe to do it: thou shalt not add thereto, nor diminish from it. <-----> Deuteronomy 12:23
And as has been mentioned , God is concerned with our relationship to Him ... not so much for his Sake - but for ours !
And our degree of harmony with The Truth of Jesus Christ , Who is also called " The Word of God " , is what establishes the nature of The Relationship we have with our Heavenly Father .
Be ye therefore followers of God, as dear children;
And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling savour. But fornication, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not be once named among you, as becometh saints;
Neither filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor jesting, which are not convenient: but rather giving of thanks.
For this ye know, that no whoremonger, nor unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, hath any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God.
Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these things cometh the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience.
Be not ye therefore partakers with them. <-----> Ephesians 5:1-7
Let a man so account of us, as of the ministers of Christ, and stewards of the mysteries of God.
Moreover it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful. <-----> 1st Corinthians 4:1+2
And if a man also strive for masteries, yet is he not crowned, except he strive lawfully.
The husbandman that laboureth must be first partaker of the fruits.
Consider what I say; and the Lord give thee understanding in all things. <-----> 2nd Timothy 2:5-7
Happy to have something to share from God's Word !
May The Lord Be Pleased to Bless .
