Coming some time after December 4th (When I turn 18) I'm going to start looking into RCIA. The chuch near me... all I have to do is call a phone number. That'll be the hard part.

CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I know exactly what you mean about calling a phone number being the hard part . . it was probably the most difficult thing I had to do once I decided I needed to come into the Catholic Church . . picking up that phone and calling the preist at the parish we now go to . . .
Just do it!

Good to see another UM come into the fullness of Christianity!
I had a very hard time calling my parish! It was probably easier to go to mass in a parish, of a denomination I had never been in a parish of nor knew anyone in, than call about RCIA.
Good sign though, shows that somewhere in you you know how much of an impact this will have in your life
