• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Yay me!

Altho, if I were his current GF (who is moving in with him soon), I wouldn't want all the furniture my SO had with his ex-wife. :sorry:

I know, it's funny, because it definitely was/is a reminder of when the ex & I bought this table, couch, etc. But, it's been almost five years now, so the reminders were down to almost forgetting and now I have five years of new reminders of when my daughter broke this and that. ;)

Also my ex moved in with his gf 3 months after I decided to quit going to counseling with him and told him the divorce was going to go thru. (we were STILL MARRIED when he moved in with her....talk about being needy! :p )

*bites tongue* I'll be good and won't give any more opinions about my ex. :sorry: LOL

I will say this tho - the only reason I even have the opinions I have is b/c his lifestyle/choices influence our children. 'Nuff said.

I know what you mean. Fortunetly, my ex lives in Nebraska, and my daughter doesn't even like to talk to him. Mainly because of his 'choices'

Awww, guys prolly don't get as emotional as, we women do.....OR I'm just a 'sap' and cry at everything! ^_^

I didn't have to worry about any of that. Most everything I had, I had before we got married. I was divorced with a 3 y/o. He took the very little he brought into the house with him when he left.

Oh, my ex and I bought EVERYTHING together. So, everything that I have in my house, my ex and I bought.

But, when I ever get serious with someone again.....all the furniture will be sold (except a few pieces that I really like) and I will buy new stuff with my new SO. But, for now, it's fine.....and it's very familiar and 'homey' for the little one. :)

I can totally understand where you are coming from. In my case, our house stopped feeling like "home" several months before we actually separated.

I did take some things to make our new home "familiar" for the boys - which I think is really important when their little lives are being emotionally (and often physically) upheaved by separation/divorce. I'm glad you were able to give your daughter that familiarity, HFL. :)
