Yanni?

I was at a wedding reception last weekend and the DJ was playing some softer piano-and-violin stuff by Yanni. I applauded him on his choice of music and he told me that he used to tour with Yanni when he (Yanni) was in a rock band back in The Day!

Anyway, I loves me some Yanni. He has a whole range of music: soft, relaxing piano & violin stuff, ethnic-sounding world music, and thunderous classical overtures.

Anyone else like Yanni?

My favorite songs of his are Before I Go, In the Morning Light, Sand Dance, Marching Season, and Santorini (the live version).

Dude, I enjoy Yanni, I've enjoyed him ever since I was a young girl...He gots some decent joints, for real. And you know what? It's stupid for a dummie like Avril Lavigne to say that she invented Punk and that she pretends that she know how the heck to play the guitar and piano and she's doesn't and Yanni himself has to have someone write down the musical notation for him, cuz he said that he couldn't really write music and yet he's a genius with perfect pitch! Avril Lavigne said she invented Punk? She's like, 18, right? She wasn't even born when the Sex Pistols, The Ramones, The Clash, etc. were all playing punk! That's a really weird thing for her to say.

I've heard of John Tesh and Jim Brickman. IIRC, Tesh is a Christian. I can take or leave his music. As for Brickman, I've heard the name but I couldn't identify any of his music.

Well, actually he is. He is a good dresser, I tell you that. In fact many New Age artists are good dressers. His music is so cool.

I like Yanni's work quite a bit, but I tend to like Enya somewhat more. They're somewhat similar in some of their works, and their collaboration pieces are also well-done.

They both rock! But I think I prefer more Yanni although, Enya wrote "Sail Away" (love that joint) and this other song...I forgot the name of, but the unknown song came out with "Only Time".

I was going to sing one of the songs she did for Lord of the Rings for a talent show once but I got sick so I couldnt But as for Yanni I used to have to listen to him everyday while I read in English class...his stuff was very relaxing and very interesting...but I dont think I like him enough to actually buy a cd of his...
