  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

It was my thought exactly that Jack's "plan" somehow involves Michael getting Sayid for help. After all, that is why Sayid took the sail boat.

Did you even suspect that it was Libby who would give Desmond the boat. Strange how she died just before her boat with Desmond on it was seen. Can you hear that dialog:

Desmond: You!
Libby: You? And my boat. What? But how?

Do you think Pen's father had anything to do with that? And strange how Libby's husband's name was David. (Same as Hurleys imaginary friend)

So much to think about.

I think the only and most important question I have now that you've done both seasons is - was it worth it to try and catch up?

You're already thinking yes so I'm not going to use spoiler tags, but from what I'm reading in TV Guide, etc. is that at the very least Desmond and Eko will be back for Season 3. I hate to be cynical, but since he is one of the most interesting characters from show 1, or if Terry O'Quinn got a drunk driving arrest in the last few days, Locke will be back too.

If I might be so presumptuous, I'd like to welcome you from L-FIT and LFA status to fully up to date Lost fan and can't wait to see your comments on the Season 3 thread. The certificate is manditory, but the hug is optional.

Yes, I would say all three of us think it was worth the time to play catch-up. We were all concerned that we would hear spoiler info in conversations out in the real world.

It would be hard for me to imagine that Eko, Desmond and Locke would not all be back. Nothing's impossible, but I agree about all of them. Locke and Eko are still so fascinating to me. Desmond, not so much...yet! But I give him plenty of room to grow on me.

Thanks for the warm welcome...I don't remember what the initials stood for, sorry. But it's certainly great to be proclaimed an official Lost Fan - complete with madatory certificate. Hugs  are returned to you and all who have patiently walked me along the journey of "catch up land". ^_^

*must go back and learn that spoiler tag stuff*:)

I'm counting on Hurley to get them some help too. In his own mind, he needs to redeem himself for all the things that have gone wrong in his life. He has tons of guilt and I think he will want to help them, even if it costs him his life. I think he will feel, why not? I might as well try.

I did not see it coming that Libby provided the boat...I knew the name David was familiar, but had momentarily forgotten that it was the same name Hurley used for his friend. And why was SHE in that hospital. We still don't know.

I don't know too much yet what I think of Pen's father. Have to think on it.

There is a small contingent of Losties (welcome to the cult, btw :D) who theorize there is some kind of alternate mental-physical-other connection between Walt and Vincent. In the scene when Michael got on the boat and we finally saw Walt, he was huddled up in a corner in a very strange position, almost like a cowering dog. The theory is that Walt, with his already-established powers, perhaps coupled by whatever sorts of experiments might have been done on him by the Others, was somehow able to change bodies with Vincent, and we saw Vincent on the boat in Walt's body.

Weird, yeah. But with a summer of no Lost, we have to find things to speculate about. :D

Now, join us in the Lost, Season 3 thread!!

So LTR finished season 2 of Lost!

Did she correctly figure out that the `Others' village was a fake along with the `hatch' there? A number of us on other boards figured that out based on just how deceptive the Others were - they went to great efforts to lie or mislead about everything else, so why allow Michael a glimpse of their true HQ? Plus, the `Others' knew that the lostaways had control of one hatch and quite possibly knew where one or two other hatches were located, so they probably figured the lostaways thought them based at a hatch as well.

Wasn't the `Hurly Bird' nifty?

What of the four toed statue?

Also...the cove where Desmonds boat was anchored was the same cove Anna Lucia's band came through. Not only that, the cove was less than an hours walk from the Swan Station. The lostaways just barely missed discovering Desmonds boat! Had they found it, they'd havve not needed the raft! All this through their disinclination to explore. Given the timeline, Anna Lucia's bunch probably came through that cove no more than a day after Desmond set sail and left.

Then there is that nifty wharf on the far side of the island...a little more searching should have turned that up as well.

Then there is Kelvin (and his dead but not forgotten partner Radzinsky). You gotta wonder how it is Danielle missed spotting him parading around outside in that bright yellow `moon suit'. I suspect that Kelvin knew of Danielle, though, and had her classed as a `hostile'.

The Others village - no, I thought there were others that were being kept in that village type situation and then that the other Others were living the more civilized life, sans make-up. I definetly didn't figure out that was a fake hatch, I think my husband said he did.

The Hurley Bird was nifty, I'd like to go back and see it again.

The four-toed statue was creepy and I haven't thought much more about it yet.

Interesting thoughts about the cove and wharf! And yeah, I would think Danielle would have spotted him. Not sure if he'd know about her though.

Boy, did he get Desmond mad! Don't blame him, though.

Look at it this way: Kelvin was a trained spook (he appears in one of Sayids flashback scenes during Gulf War I). Danielle had been setting traps all over that island for years. Kelvin had the smarts and the training to spot and inspect her traps without setting them off. Therefor, Kelvin knew that somebody was setting the traps - somebody he designated a `hostile' even if he never knew just who Danielle was.

I did know that Kelvin was in Sayid's flashback, I didn't think of him in that way though when I answered. Yeah, that makes sense.

Good thinking, Thinker!
