They allow you to fully use it with a high definition TV. With the original 360, the HDMI cables were a separate accessory.

The only difference now is the colour and the harddrive size. The Premiums are getting and reports of some already having HDMI slots and the hardware updates are being matched in the Premiums. Core is out of luck, as no one should really every buy a Core unless they already have a drive.

News! I went from a 13-inch computer monitor to a 17-inch computer monitor. Sweetness! May not seem like much, but it is. Noticeable difference. And before anyone says it, no, it's not too bad I'm playing on something that small. No one to play with here, so I don't have to share a screen or sit several feet from it. Besides, not everything is in my view leaving minimal to periphery. So take that big screeners!

I currently have a 19 inch wide-screen LCD monitor. It replaced my regular 19 inch LCD monitor. I'm not sure if I like the regular screen or wide-screen better.

My X-Box, PS3 and PC are all hooked up to my 32 inch wide-screen TV, which I sit a few feet from on my futon. It's not HD, so it only puts out a 480p resolution. It looks darned good to me! I enjoy watching YouTube videos on it.

I picked up the 19 inch computer monitor refurbished in Akihabara (Tokyo) for about $175 US. I got the 32 inch TV for the same ($175 US) from a friend who was leaving Japan... including the stand. LUCKY!


In other words... My Playstation 3 cost more than my computer monitor and TV put together. That's sick. At least it's multi-region...

You could, but you'd have to find an adapter in order to hook it up.

Computer monitors take a VGA input, which is a hi-def video input. Elites (and now other models too) have HDMI which is an audio/video input and takes one cable/plug. You can get a VGA cable for any 360, it'll replace the composite, component or whatever and also have red and white audio plugs.

I had a HDTV but it died just a few days after getting Hi-def cables for my original XBOX. Major bummer that was, and no room in the budget to spring for a new HDTV.

My wife surprised me just a few days ago with an XBOX 360!! No Hi-def TV but at this point I don't care, I'm just super-excited about the new gaming system
