• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

The story: I defended my pro-life views with scripture. I got removed from the thread for being too personal. I left the debate peacefully. I went to the Christian section of the site for a bit to think of Godly things. Someone on this site posted a petition to fight foca. Ii signed it and wanted to pass it on to others who felt as I did. I cannot post it in the debate section because I dont want it debated. The Christian section is for conservatives and liberals to support each other. I posted Fight FOCA in there and asked kindly for anyone who is Christian and shares my views to sign it.
The woman who publically attacked me (later you will see the quotes) tells me its not fair to post political propaganda in a Christian forum

Me said:
Its not political propaganda alone . Its what MANY Christians stand for.

I just want to reach out to Christians without gettiing into a heated debate

Then she said "Not only Christians are pro-life"

I said:
Not only Christians are pro-life but I said I wanted to reach out to those who are without sparking debate.

What would Jesus do? What would you do? Did I handle this appropriately or is there a better way to do this?

The attack she opened on me publicly:

OP said:
Pretty much all I've seen in the last few weeks is conservative political propaganda. This is the exact same problem I've had with churches all my life. Always focusing on what other people are doing instead of looking inward. I know that Jesus said certain things were wrong, and I agree that we should hold with that but I think it's more than clear that Jesus wanted us to search within ourselves first. When we're perfect then we can start talking to other people about what they're doing wrong.

Rhea, if you want to change the world why don't you start with all the babies in the world that are born and don't have enough to eat NOW. You don't need money to do that. You want to start a thread about why you're viewed as intolerant? Really? Is there a question? If you can't be arsed to get off the conservative sites long enough to find out basic, basic facts about a topic...why on earth would anyone respect what you have to say? Some of the things you repeated in the Debate forum were just plain ignorant.

I'm still looking for truth, but I don't think I'll find it here.

*****(name of OP) I take the Christian God from the God in the Holy Bible. I take His Word to heart and I back Him and His Word up whenever I can. I see a morally corrupt thing about to occur in our country and I want to fix it.

This forum is about support for ALL Christians not just liberals not just conservatives. Abortion is a religious issue to me not a political one. Abortion is morally bankrupt. You want to attack me out in public because you think I am intolerant? Only conservatives are ever intolerant. Liberals who want to force Chrsitian doctors to murder the unborn or lose their license THATS tolerance but I am pro-life so I am intolerant.

Well obviously you think your way is right and mine is wrong. So you're intolerant of me too.

By the way ***** I love you. I want you to find God and whatever you are looking for. So I will also be praying for you. God bless you, *******.

ETA: I posted the Fight Foca petition to reach out to my sisters and brothers in Christ not to start a debate and certainly not to make you question your walk with God. I hope the Holy Spirit fills you and you are saved and you can stop seeing everything as a way to get at you.

I am new to Christianity in general and I have only been conservative for a year. I'm lost as to how I caused her such anguish and to attack me when all I was doing was trying to reach out. By asking people to sign Fight FOCA petition...did I come off as threatening or condescending?

A few comments:

If you research church history you will find out that Christians have been arguing about issues for years and several times accuse each other of heresy, don't take things too personally.Secondly, there is a lot of people out there who call themselves Christians who are not scripture calls them "wolves in sheeps clothing." In either case, you are bound to find some tension in any issue you post about, especially if it has a political background. Just pray about it and try to "argue" and by argue I don't mean fight or yell but I mean post the reasons why you are doing what you are doing.

From this and the other things you've posted from this member it sounds like she's in the midst of a major spiritual battle. And you may just be the nearest punching bag. I suggest taking some serious time to pray for her. Sometimes it is the most angry and hostile ones that are closest to coming to Christ. Their hearts are heavy with conviction and they're lashing out at anyone who represents the Source of that conviction. So long as you continue to post with love and not personal desire to prove yourself right (something we're all guilty of from time to time), then you have no need to take it personally. Consider it all joy and pray for this woman.

I will find it joyful to pray for her. Was I very hostile or had the whole "I am right you are wrong." way about me in the post?
No, no, I think you did fine there. I'm just talking about our attitude overall when we are in discussions like that.

I got slammed in the Christian support forum by everyone even those who are atheist. I got slammed, called ignorant, intolerant everything.

You ever think someone is your friend? I was pregnant with these women. We waited for our babies to be born together. When our babies were born we spent sleepless nights together talking about our babes, sharing stories and photos. We knew each other for nearly 2 years and they attacked me. I feel like crying and I have nothing to say. Why do I feel like crying? I still have God on my side. I would quote everything if I could I just am shaking.

All I did was offer prayer and love...

be happy. I have been called all these things and more. Post here for a while until you feel ready to martyr yourself amongst the Pagans. One thing I will tell you is that it will never be pleasant.

They were very mean the last I read that I was "an ignorant little girl" and intolerant and "Is it even a question you are intolerant?" and they said I said everyone was going to Hell I asked for a quote on where I had said that because I never said that.

Then one lady said Jesus would never say you were going to hell even though I never told the lady she was going to hell. I just told her I would pray for her and I loved her and I hoped the Holy Spirit filled her and she got saved. At no time did I say someone was going to Hell.

Then I did say that "Jesus has said that people will go to Hell. To tell people that he would never say someone is going to hell is a lie when he's said so Himself several times." but I left after that I don't know what new attacks are being used against me now.

Dude seriously prayer makes people this angry? I will keep praying for her, though I am not sure Christianity is the path she actually wants to take.

All the attacks came AFTER I said "I love you and I will pray for you. I hope the Holy Spirit fills you." I left for 3 hours to play with my son and came back to a load of attacks and lies about me.

What she needs to know is that not all NONchristians are pro choice!

My uncle & grandfather had been a staunch Atheists most all their lives and BOTH of them were anti abortion

Many nonChristians do hold moral values and are pro life - not pro abortion.

It looks like this board is run on PCism. It's rampant.

 Yep

This is the way the world is going; it's in full blown rebellion to God
and His law. He told us this would come and it's now here.
2 Timothy 4:3
For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine;
but wanting to have their ears tickled, they will accumulate for themselves teachers in accordance to their own desires,

2 Timothy 3

"Difficult Times Will Come"

1 But realize this, that in the last days difficult times will come.
2 For men will be lovers of self, lovers of money, boastful, arrogant, revilers, disobedient to parents, ungrateful, unholy,
3 unloving, irreconcilable, malicious gossips, without self-control, brutal, haters of good,
4 treacherous, reckless, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God,
5 holding to a form of godliness, although they have denied its power;
Avoid such men as these.

God's people will be persecuted in many ways when we refuse to submit to the world's values & beliefs - some worse than others.
If this is all we have to endure for truth, we've been blessed.

COUNT IT ALL JOY that you bear His name!
