Awesome!Actually, that is one of the amazing things about God. He gave me a surge of complete comfort, took away all of my worries, and I completely was at ease in telling my coworker my view of faith. He had not seen the scripture about the entirety of the law of the prophets being summed up into "Love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength and love your neighbor as yourself", and when I showed him that, he started to talk about how all of the holy wars between faiths seem so pointless, and we got to talking about how the body of Christ (ie the Christian Church) was never intended by God to be fractured, and that we all share the same common belief that "God so loved the world that he gave his one and only son, that whoever believes in him will not perish but have everlasting life. For God did send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him." (paraphrased... my memory is not so good).
Basically, pointing him to these two scriptures and then explaining that we "all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." (proven by the fact that we don't have to learn to be selfish and greedy, but we do have to learn to share and be selfless), I was able to share the whole of the salvation message with him while sitting at my desk at work.
God sure does move in mysterious ways.
Thanks, all, for the encouragement!

Some of you guys have really brought the image of christians up. Very welcoming.
I will keep you in prayer. He will strengthen you, have similar issues, I try to do it on my own and fail, I have to remember to ask for His strength and lean on Him.Hello, everyone! How's everything going for all of you?
That's a lot of cool pics Ty!
I've been finding it a little harder as the days go by to live as I'm lead to believe Jesus would. It certainly doesn't get easier. I keep catching myself completely ignoring what I know I should do. But at the same time, I am still closer to God than I was before I took the pledge. It is hard, but with God's help, I am fighting hard to live up to it.

Love this! Good morning to all, have a blessed day!A quote from an atheist in the open forums:

This is such a nice thread
I pray you are all enjoying the pledge we took
It's great to hear about successful encounters for God here!
I'd love to post a personal success today, but truthfully I believe that I've been failing my own children in the last week. I probably just needed to take a couple of days off. I've been letting the stress of my struggling marriage, money, and work get to me. My patience with my children has been less than Christlike.
Yesterday I realized that I had caught a nasty cold. So, I had yesterday and today off to get healthy and de-stress a little. I'm giving my kids extra hugs, kisses, "I love yous", cuddles, and apoligies.
It is true that resting one day a week is a great idea. It's not surprising that God told us to do it! But, how many of us really do? I'm just curious, how do you keep the Sabbath day Holy? Do you actually set aside a day where you don't do any work? I'm not judging or criticising, just curious. I know that I would be more relaxed and not so easily wrapped up in the world if I remembered not to go go go 24/7.
To be honest, I've always felt that Monday thru Friday are for working, Saturday the kids and I run errands and play, and Sunday I clean and prepare for another week. How does one go about truly setting aside an entire day of rest? I'd love to hear suggestions.
Wise words.......I am! And I hope and pray everyone else is too!
Hi Kanga! I think your reaction and acknowledging your stress levels is awesome! I think it's great for our children to see us as not perfect. Appologizing, extra hugs and kisses and all of that is great! Just take a minute to reflect on the lessons you are teaching them.
It has taken years for me to come to a routine that enables one day of nothing. Friday's and Monday's I clean like a madwoman. Well, maybe not so much so on Monday, but it definitely has it's times in which it doesn't look like I cleaned at all on Friday.
Like you Monday through Friday (and an occasional Satruday) are for whatever needs to be done. Saturday I generally run errands although I prefer to do it during the evening hours during the week. And Sunday is for church, eating and relaxing.
It took me some time to adapt to a routine that works in our home. But once you find the best routine for your family and lifestyle it's great when you have the one day set aside to truly relax. Our Father does have the best ideas!
Good morning everyone!

It is good to hear that you are taking steps to de-stress, you are working to fix the problem, so I wouldn't count that as a failure. It's great to hear about successful encounters for God here!
