Do you believe that you can marry the "wrong" person?

Is this a trick question? What do you mean 'wrong' person? You can surely marry someone who turns out to be badly suited to you and thus fight a lot more, but does that really make them the 'wrong' person?

Yeah - Leanna said it well. But I think, you can't marry the wrong person if you listen and trust God though and follow God's will.

I'm not too sure on that, but I voted no because God has predestined our lives so he let's people marry not so perfect people.

hmmm i think we can marry the wrong person because we all make mistakes and a lot of us don't listen to God like we should and trust him. so yes, i think we can...BUT God works around our mistakes all the time. but that is kind of a trick question i guess because even if you marry the wrong person, you have now entered into marriage and now they have become the "right" person i guess......hmmm now i'm confused!!!

Yes, I agree. If we go in our own direction, we would probably be marrying the wrong person.

In Proverbs, it says trust in the Lord with all thine heart and lean not to thine own understanding, but in all thy ways, acknowledge him and he shall direct thy path.

Next, 1 Corinthians 7 clearly states on marriage.

God hates divorce but if you can't live in peace thewn it calls to question things and decide.

It depends on what you mean by "wrong person." I can interpret it one of two ways: 1) marrying someone who is not well suited for you, or 2) marrying someone other than who God wanted you to marry.

1) is definitely possible, because we make dumb choices sometimes.

2) depends on if you believe in "the one" or not. "The one" is never promised anywhere in the Bible... but it is possible that God can give it as a gift.

I believe that a person can make a bad choice, but once married that person becomes the 'right' person even if they weren't the best choice...

Yes, I agree with this, and with what Leanna said. You probably could marry the "wrong" person, but once you're married you have made a covenant with that person and with God and you shouldn't break it, even if you THINK you married the "wrong" person.

It happens entirely too often.
I think the volume of troubled and dissolved marriages should give us pause to consider marriage more closely. Loving someone doens't mean getting married to them is a good idea. As elementary as that sounds no one ever considers the truth of it.

I think that it is possible to marry the wrong person if you are not in tune with what God's will is. Without God, it is possible to fall madly in lust and marry someone who may not be the best for you.
