  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Has anyone here ever been given the wrong due date, by like three weeks to a month? Earlier, I checked (and matched) my symptoms against what a woman normally experiences in their seventh month, everyone thinks I'm havin' him next month cause I'm HUGE!!!, and earlier I watched him move in my belly! So, I'm wonderin' if my very incompetent doctor up north maybe missed my due date by a whole lot.

If you are in doubt- get a sonogram ASAP and/or have your fundal height measured.

Your fundal height (in cm) should basically be the same as how many weeks you are.

With the available technology early sonograms are pretty accurate in regards to dating. They get more erroneous as the baby gets bigger.

I always give my doctor my due date based on my charting. :)

Personally- I don't think there's much difference from month to month from 5-8 months

I'm quite small at 23 weeks... and I thought the doctors were off... not fully understanding how accurate ultrasounds usually are, lol. I had an unltrasound done at 7 weeks... and again at 20-ish... due date came out exactly the same... so I guess I'm just carrying small. And I haven't had any preggo symptoms but the bigger breasts... hmm, and I spose I had the more urination thing in the beginning, but I was on a road trip to California, drinking tons and tons of water, so I thought that was normal, lol. And now I do have the odd mild case of heart burn. Hmm, lol.

with my daughter my edd was about 1wk out because I ovulated late with my crazy cycles, but after 2 ultrasounds it was fixed and my daughter arrived the day after her ammended due date.
This time I know my due date due to tracking my cycles, I know the day I conceived my son.

sometimes fundal hight can't be used either, many women measure large through their whole pregnancy. I am one, and my due date is spot on for ovulation. I measure a month larger, in both full term pregnancies I have had. But when in doubt consult you doctor.

I guess it's right, then, cause I had two US and the docs said they agreed with one another. He must just be a really big baby! Or, my toxemia is causing my belly to bloat, too. I know I hardly recognize my feet and legs these days. :( ;)

A large belly can also mean that you are carrying alot of water. That's no bad thing
Oh yeah... that happened to my mother. She gained 70 lbs! Her belly was so huge with my little sister. The docs even thought there was a second heart beat because of the echo... it turned out she carried my sister with about twenty lbs of water! It filled up the delivery room two inches high! So that could be it too. Praying for you.

Happy bday by the way ;-)

I'm little and gained 53lbs during my pregnancy. If you are eating right and drinking enough water, and being active when you can, you'll gain what you are supposed to. Baring Gestational diabetes, you'll have a baby the size they are meant to be. I have found due dates determined by date of first day of last period to be pretty accurate, same with early ultrasounds. A ultrasound at 30 weeks wanted to put my Due date up 2-3 weeks and he'd have been way too early had the doctor listened and wanted to induce me. He was in there 40 weeks and just under 7lbs.
