  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

When you say "write it out", are you meaning write out the verses/chapters you are studying by hand? Or do you mean write out what thoughts you have as you read it? or what questions you want answered?

When I started reading through the NT a couple of months ago, I read, say, a chapter a day, then focused on one passage/story in that chapter and wrote about it in my blog. That helped keep my focus on what I was studying.

I meant writing out the entire Bible.

Cool. Then, if you get into a biblical debate you can say, "hey, I know. I wrote it."

But on the other hand, I get a feeling you're focusing and awful lot on the letter. I believe if you get to listen and speak with the Spirit, learn to know His voice, you'll have more to write about than you could fit in a bible. He's got something to tell you personally, you know, He didn't merely send out a copy of a letter to everybody He knows.

You don't get to know people by studying hard about them, but by being with them and listening to them speak. Listen more than you read, I'd say.

hmmm, I don't know,I think the posters gave wonderful advice, that just sounds more reasonable and uplifting to me,than writing out the whole Bible which sounds like it would become a "chore' rather than a pleasure, but I would just suggest you really think about what they have said, what your goal is and pray for God to lead you. I do admire your desire,I just think bible study can be enjoyed so much more, when it is done leisurely, really just chewing it slowly, and savouring it as you go along, rather than approaching it as a daunting task. God Bless You :)

yup this can't become a task and there is no rush. Write a few verses then write a prayer those verses inspired. Take it slow and never let it get between you and GOD. Its purpose has to be to draw you closer to GOD!! and anytime you feel that isn't happening stop; pray and go in the direction GOD leads you!!
