  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

The thing you need to know about writing stories is that you have to get people's attention by writing a great story. First, pick a topic that you like. Then, get an idea what you want to write about. Next, get charactrs to write about. Then, start writing the story. Some people will like it.;)

Some things to keep in mind:

1. The first time you write your story is to get it done. This is your rough draft plot holes, grammatical errors, flat characters and lack of description are not important. The important thing is to get the story/idea on paper.

2. Rewrite. Fix your characters, grammar, description and plot.

3. Give your manuscript to some people who will read your story and tell you what they don't like about the story and what works for them. You want people who will be honest and not just tell you it's good because you wrote it. Tell them to grab the pen and write on the manuscript.

4. When your lovely volunteers have finished critiquing your story thank them for their time and effort. Read what they wrote about the story and rewrite. If you have three people pointing out the same problem then you probably need to fix it. If you only have one person who didn't like it then hey it's your call. Remember it's your story.

Have fun and don't become discouraged.

Never take criticism personally. I know that there are many people who do, and that is honestly one of the worst things for your writing.

You don't have to actually act on what people tell you, but at least listen to them; you just might learn a thing or two about your work.

:)
