  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Yes, those things count. If the author has something in there that is supposed to be wrong, they need to specify that. I'll add this to the first post.
So we need to specify a whole list of grammatical errors that we meant to make? 'Cause I don't think I could make a list...especially since I've been known to take, "creative licence" with my grammer on occasion.

unless it's glaringly obvious (so obvious it detracts from the story) i don't have much of an opinion on it. usually i'm pretty good at picking up intentional and unintentional mistakes.
I didn't mean that if a sentence is a fragment that obviously fits with what your saying, that's fine. Or if someone talks funny like "'ow 'id you's do tha?" Is completely fine.

Yeah, if I intend to make an error of this sort, I make sure it's really obvious.

Of course that isn't as hard as the secret messages using the first letter of the first word, the second letter of the second word ...

Those are REALLY difficult.

Except I'm pretty good at using bad grammer intentionally in a way that looks unintentional. But it's perfectly story-relevant for a grief-stricken narrator to use less-than-perfect grammer. Heck, if the narrator's human it's perfectly fine for them to use imperfect gramemr!! And if the narrator's not human...then, well, that just might mean that their grammer's even worse. ^_^ By the way, how proper do you want even the unintentional grammer? I mean, will be get in trouble for splitting infinitives? 'Cause I like to always do that. Or what about setence fragments for dramatic purposes? They're my favorite. Really. Now excessive punctuation is just redicious, right?!?!?!?! And so it typing in ALL CAPS!!!!!! Doing this just makes you sound like a THIRD GRADER!!!!

Now see if you can seperate my intentional grammer errors from my unintentional ones in this post and you'll see what I mean. ^_^

Now I'm off to writing class....seeya!

I'll be a writer.

Wanted not forever

A long time ago, or just eight years ago, I was five. And because of that, I had not yet heard the phrase, be careful what you wish for. I don’t know all the facts, but I think I know enough to tell you, at least something of this unfortunate situation.
My mother was going to an eye doctor, by which name I have no idea, so I guess we can call him Dr. Shone. My mother and walked into an office which I bet had diplomas, and a good supply of strange equipment nobody had ever seen or probably wanted to see. The doctor had on a hilarious smile of laughs and teeth that needed to be repaired.
Of course, at five I could not be happy for long. Really, who wants to sit in a stuffy old doctor’s office and hear about how bad eyes could be and all that nonsense? So I decided to look around the office a bit more. There was a computer, of bunch of files, plenty of interesting equipment I probably would have broke if I got my hands on them, and most interesting of all, a huge shelf full of glasses. I gazed at all the brown ones, and the blue ones, but the ones that got my eye were a pair of pink ones. I now was very interested in what was happening.
I want the pink pair of glasses I told my Mom. She told me I didn’t need glasses. I wasn’t very convinced. I said I did need glasses because I wanted them. Dr. Shone even thought it was funny.
Now, I’m 13. A 13-year-old that has brown glasses and has very well decided that they could go away. I’m so glad I didn’t wish for braces too much.
