Hi Folks!

I"ve got to write (and present) a speech on one of the below topics for my Church in March of 2004 - last year I did this, but waited until the last minute to finish it, so I decided to give myself a head start this year!

I've already knocked out topics I know I do not want to be speaking about, but I'd like some ideas (if anybody has any) on any of the below topics... maybe some ideas on how to proceed with one of them.

Thanks!

Guarding Your Mind-
Garbage in garbage out

Who Does It Really Belong To?-
Huh?

Black or White in a Gray World-
There IS absolute Truth!
or
Gray in a black or white world
Moral reletivism is rampant today. "It is only true if I beleive it is true" is the credo of many. But this is a downward spiral. If you do not stand for something, you will fall for anything.
(I could really expand on this topic at your request)

Games Christians Play-
May God's Will be done. (as long as it conformes to MY will)

Why Do They Call Him Savior?-
He saved us from our sins and gained entrance into heaven for us.

God is in Control-
Though it seems like He is not in control with tha abundance of sin, God will have the final word.

Just Trust-
Trust who? God or Man?

Change Can Be Positive-
A change in the right direction is positive. A change in the wrong direction can also be positive if we follow God out of the prediciment. God writes straight with crooked lines.

Winning by Losing-
Christ won our souls by losing His life. A seed must die to sprout new life.

Hope I gave you some ideas

In Christ, Patrick

"Games Christians Play" could be really interesting... kind of along with what Patrick commented on that "May God's Will be done. (as long as it conformes to MY will)"... sometimes Christians will do this manipulating thing to get OTHERS to do what they want ("MY will"). Like, "I've been really praying about this, and God told me you should do such-and-such" - they put "God TOLD me" in there, kind of making it a situation where a lot of people will feel like "how can I refute that? God told them."

I hope I'm making sense there... it's tricky, that whole manipulation game! :)

Games Christians Play- hypocrisy in the congregation.
This a speech, and not a sermon? I think a sermon would be easier. ;)

My personal favorite topic is The Light of the World. It is about how Christ is the light, and ways that we can reflect His light in us, and to others.

I'm thinking about doing this topic, or 'Games Christians Play'. - I'm still not sure, which one, though.

If you could expand on the topic, like you said you could earlier, it would be great. In addition, if you have any other ideas on where to take 'Games Christians Play', that would be greatly appreciated, as well. (even though I'm not entirely sure you'll be reading this, since my original post was from last June. ;) )

Thanks a bunch.
