Hello, all. The Book of Psalms is an interesting book of the Bible, for it's all prayers & proclamations, not narratives or wisdom or prophets like all of the other books involve. It's not a collection of God's words, but of human words to God.
One thing I started yesterday was writing my own Psalms. What I originally considered was rewriting some of the psalms, to fill them in with my personal struggles or sins or glories, and I might still do that, but for now I'm trying to write 1 original Psalm a day.
The purpose of this post is really just to give the rest of Internetland an idea that's worked out to being some pretty strong prayers for me.
Here's what I have so far:

Psalm 1A:
"Let not the foot of pride come against me!
Bring your sword against the lust that gnaws at my soul!
Destroy the demons that attempt to lead me from You, O Lord!
Let their efforts be in vain!
Let my wounds strengthen me!
Make me a saint, O Lord!
Make me worth of Your kingdom!"

Psalm 2A:
"I am alive in Christ;
Without Him, I am nothing."

Something interesting happened while I was writing these; my handwriting was horrible. Normally, I write legibly, with few scribbles, but when writing these, my pen just kept jumping around, trying to skip letters, and I think it was the Devil trying to keep me from writing such powerful words against him. I think writing prayers in the style of the Psalms gives them a different kind of depth from usual, sometimes being more battle cries than quietly repeated words.

Psalms 1:Lord strengthen me in a time of trouble.
2:Heavenly Father turn my thoughts away from the pleasures of sensuality.
3:Lord be a hedge of safety around my children and family and church "family".

This morning, I woke up with a bad sore throat. After strong prayers to St. Blaise, the sore throat mostly disappeared, and was soon replaced by a bit of nausea, now a headache, general lack of energy, basically flu season in 1 day. Hence, my psalm for today:

"Crush this malaise that has come over me, O Lord!
Destroy these demons that attempt to break me!
Let my spirit only be strengthened!
Let my faith only grow stronger!
Do not allow these demons to win, O Lord!
Let me use their attacks to glorify You!"

I would also like to add a word of thanks to God, for not allowing this illness to keep me off the ice from hockey class today. We've been going over the basics since the beginning of the semester, and today we did some 3-on-3, which was extremely fun. I kind of want to barf right now, but He put off the stronger symptoms until after I could play the sport I love, so thank you, Lord.

This is just incredible! Such inspiring work. I feel a study group coming on! :D

Thank you brother, peace to you

[Laptop battery dying, abbreviated message to follow]
I've sadly stopped writing psalms for quite some time now, but after reading more of Manual for Spiritual Warfare, I wrote a flurry of 9 or 10 new ones. Also, thinking about the impending holiday of single's awareness, and the girl I like, without even realizing it, I started incorporating her into my psalms. Now, I'll still write things like "Strengthen me against the devil", but followed by "...so I can defend myself, Sam, and the whole world from his evil snares". One was written exclusively for her: "Help me to lead Sam closer to you, O Lord! Do not let either of us stray from Your good and holy path! ... Let this be a testament of His infinite, unconditional love for us!"
