That sounds a lot like blurring the gender lines even further and taking away differences.
Please give some examples.
According to that......yes.
Have you heard the stories of young high school gals that had gone away to visit their aunt out of town for a year? Just because things weren't out in the open where everyone knew....doesn't mean things didn't happen.
What about the time that there was no transportation and it was to dangerous to travel that far....what did they do then?
Still sounds like you are asking for the blurring of gender lines. I don't see how that isn't what you are asking for. In one sense you bring age old gender identified stimuli like sports(which a ton of my friends love and a ton of my friends couldn't careless and nooooo one would say they are anything less but real men) it can be very confusing. Now if you are stating that men are identified as sports watchers, which is so 1970s and I don't even think that's a thing but for argument sake lets say it is.Sure....right here: http://www.christianforums.com/t7832309/ in the OP.
I'm pretty sure there's always been some mode of transportation. As far as I know....horses have been around for quite a while (for example).

What's wrong with recognizing the tradition of being a fan of a certain team, enjoying watching a certain sport, bonding with friends and often times fathers? Is the enjoyment of a male tradition of being a sports fan threatening or harmful to people? How does this affect society? Is gender related traditions now a threat to equality? Or is it wrong that some guys aren't friends with other guys that don't like the same sport?
So you believe that teen pregnancy is lower today then when people traveled on horses????? I am just asking because you said in history and that is a very long time when we are talking about america.
I'm not trying to start anything but I had the courage to put my thoughts up there I don't mind you disagreeing with me but please be mature enough not to insult my thoughts. We can have a good conversation or a nasty one it's entirely on you. I didn't disrespect you please don't disrespect me.If I were to believe what I'm reading, yes.
The article said, "historic low". That's not from any research I've done.

Your OP has been rebutted a few times now and you've still to respond seriously to any answers to the contrary.

Actually some of us would say it works really, really well for both if that "tradition" comes from Scriptural roles for genders, regardless of what century it is in.
Young women being busy at home? It works for men, children, and often the young women in question.
Does it mean all women have to be? No. And certainly there are situations where it would not make sense to be or even would not be possible.
But The Bible still has that the older women are to teach the younger women that for a reason.
Avniel, I am not disagreeing with you. When I said "from what I have been reading..." it was in regard to the part that I put in bold when I quoted you. You asked "Is gender related traditions now a threat to equality". That's what I was responding to because (from some of the responses in the thread) some would have us believe that. I don't, and I've challenged that throughout the thread. I'm as interested in straight answers to the OP as you.
Just wanted to clarify that.
My statement was regarding the fact that MK stated teen pregnancy is lower then it has ever been in history a little far fetched if you ask me. It had nothing to do with changes other then that.I think that probably a lot of things have changed since we traveled on horses. And thank God that they have.
I don't agree that the OP has been rebutted. There is nothing 'false' about equality.
