Would your church be open to having a exorcism service?

I'm not sure of the way Freak means it but demonization is more common than one might think.

Demons are not limited to the way the Bible, TV, or movies show demons manifesting.

My church, as needed, casts demons out. People we run into all the time need deliverence from all kinds of things. . .we've given them acceptable public names and call them diseases and have medications that supposedly manages it. However, we're not supposed to manage demons, we're supposed to cast them out.

Personally, I don't think it should be planned as a public spectacle. If it has to be dealt with in public then I guess it has to be dealt with.

Do you have a web site Freak, that can be checked out? I don't think my church would be interested, although I would be willing to pass information on.  It would be nice to have more information . . .for others here as well as myself.

Thanks,

Quaffer

Today at 04:58 PM lambslove said this in Post #8

So I might have a demon of low-thyroid function? ;)

I believe satan hates us and is out to destroy us. . .any way he can and any way we allow him to.

My body manifests those same symptoms lambslove.  I take medication for it and I ask God to bless the medication as I take it and I thank Him for His healing and look forward to the day when the healing manifests instead of the symptoms.

Dear Freak,

I for one agree with you and the others on this post that deliverance or exorcism of demonic spirits is needed in every church. Having been on a Christian college board, there is no one that teaches how to do it scripturally.

Since the Cross, the greatest threat to mankind are demonic spirits that enters people's bodys causing all kinds of horrors! The bible indicates that the devil is imprisoned at the center of the earth and so are the fallen angels placed into everlasting chains. After this, the next greatest threat are the demons.

I applaud you for having the courage to stand up against them and take the battle to them. It is the spiritual warfare of the bible and too few Christians are concerned enough to fight them. It is not for everyone although I firmly believe that every one, especially Christians have demonic spirits!

Maybe we can start a deliverance ministry to engage them.

Peace be with you,

i do not have any demonic spirits.
i have been made new by the Holy Spirit. He lives in me, therefore nothing else can. God will not share His temple with demons.
i am attacked by satan. he lies to me and tries to influence and deceive me. just as Jesus was tempted.

is freak still around? how are the services going?

And the truth shall set ye free; not freak. Confess your sins to God and He will forgive you. After that satan has no power. Sorry freak, but your kind is the false kind. If you were the true kind, you would not need to advertise. I can not recall any of the dicipels doing it.
May God have grace on you and open your eyes.

I just wanted to put in a couple of stories to give some perspective on exorcism and demonic possesion.

My first experience of demonic possesion was with a friend who was in the goth scene, had dabbled in wicka (sp?) and occult, had a "spirit guide", etc. She went into a trance, walked into a room of her brother and closest friends with a loaded gun and started playing with the safety. As she was disarmed and carried off to the other room we were asking her what she was doing with the gun. I was going to shoot somebody. A few minutes later she came too and didn't remember any of that. I not knowing how to handle the situation simply prayed like a mad-man.

2nd Experience - I was leading a small group and I felt like we should study Niel T Anderson's the Bondage breaker - I would reccomend his books as it is very scriptual and relevant to all Christians - regardless if you see yourself as demonically oppressed. A few months after the group ended one of the members backslid. He was a former gang member but had a radical conversion and I have no doubt that he was spirit filled. Last week he told me of his experience where he was being prayed for by a close friend and a demon was manafested in him, He basically started cussing out a close friend of His. He knew what was going on but couldn't stop it. His friend prayed for over 3 hours declaring that the demon had no authority over the child of God. The demon just sneered and said that it had authority because my friend had given it to him. It wasn't till my friend told him to leave, verbally, outloud that the demon left. He described it as one of the hardest things he had ever done.

So what's the point. I'll have to agree with Niel T. Demonic oppresson and possession is not only biblical but is more common than you think. It can be a problem not only in openly pagan individual such as my witch friend, but also in an Holy Spirit filled Christian who allows the enemy's lies to control and influence their life.
