I don't think it would be a big issue--enough people are Christian, and enough wear crosses, that it may very well just go unnoticed.

Though, to be fair, I always wonder if having "Messiah College" on my resume effects how potential employers view me. It's definitely never gotten me a job, but I wonder if it's turned some people away?

When I used to wear a cross, I wore it to work, and it was never a problem. I even went out of the way to ask if it was ok, and was told it was fine (this was when I was a substitute teacher).

I really mess them up - I wear a cross and a small Star of David - I wear it all the time. I wear them for what they mean to me and not for show. I never even think about it. It just happened on my last interview, the manager wanted to know why I wear both - I said no reason - my Jesus was a Jew and I wear it to honor Him. She just happened to be from a Christian background, but heavy into the Jewish beliefs.

I have this cross on which I never take off. Most of the time it is tucked inside my shirt. I wear it because its a reminder to me of who I am and who I belong to. It is not for me to show off to the world. I want them to know who I belong without seeing my cross.

So to answer the question, yes I do wear a cross to an interview. But again, its usually tucked in.

I ended up wearing a cross necklace to an interview in spite of it being with a very liberal organization. I knew it might not help me get the job, but decided that if they won't hire me over wearing a cross then I don't want to work there anyway.

I don't see why a "liberal organization" would be upset with you wearing a cross. Most people who wear crosses seem to wear them inside their shirts anyways.

I went through dozens of interviews to get a part-time job. When I was heading out for my last interview, which I was successful at, I decided to put my cross necklace on underneath my shirt. I prayed the night before as I was getting desperate and worried that I would just keep on failing and failing interviews.

I don't really wear a cross, but if I did, I probably wouldn't bring it to a job interview because I wouldn't want to offend anyone. Besides, I don't like discussing my religious views with people I don't know - unless it's in an environment where I'm comfortable doing it in.

Well, to be more specific, I wouldn't wear A cross to an interview. I would wear 2. I have a wooden one and a dog-tag like one on the chain I always wear. The dog-tag like one was a birthday gift from my parents, and the wooden one represents my stillborn sister, who's in heaven watching over me. If it were a requirement that I could only wear one, I'd wear my wooden one. But yes, I would wear my crosses to an interview.

I remember hearing (probably back in High school) that it wasn't okay to openly display "religious" clothing, and/or accessories. That it may offend the employer.

But I don't really take any "opinions" I heard back in H.S seriously. =P I would wear mine, either tucked behind my shirt or displayed openly outside.

I've worn mine to interviews, but mainly because it was a gift from my mom and I never took it off till the chain broke. My employer never really cared, tho one of the floor leads was an Atheist. No one really cared. Tho to be honest I usually keep necklaces tucked inside my shirt... It was a lot easier to explain than the pink streak in my hair XD
