I'm less about overturning the contra-Biblical with human reasoning
This is where we depart ways....I am very interested in overturning contra Biblical beliefs with false human reasoning....we both have places here at CF....just different boats sailing with the same current...let charity reign between the both of us.

What laws did Sodom and Gomorrah break.

We are told they sinned and sin is the transgression of God's law 1 John 3:4 no law, no sin. Rom 4:15

What law does Paul quote from to define sin- he quotes right from the unit of Ten.

Rom 7:7 What shall we say then? Is the law sin? Certainly not! On the contrary, I would not have known sin except through the law. For I would not have known covetousness unless the law had said, “You shall not covet.”

What was the sin of Sodom and Gomorrah

It says they were sinful against God. Sexual immorality/fornication and lying.

Gen 13:13 But the men of Sodom were exceedingly wicked and sinful against the Lord.
This would be breaking commandment #1- To have no other gods before Me,

Gen 19:4 4 Before they had gone to bed, all the men from every part of the city of Sodom—both young and old—surrounded the house. 5 They called to Lot, “Where are the men who came to you tonight? Bring them out to us so that we can have sex with them.”

Jer 23:14 And among the prophets of Jerusalem
I have seen something horrible:
They commit adultery and live a lie.
They strengthen the hands of evildoers,
so that not one of them turns from their wickedness.
They are all like Sodom to me;
the people of Jerusalem are like Gomorrah.”

Jude 1:7 as Sodom and Gomorrah, and the cities around them in a similar manner to these, having given themselves over to sexual immorality and gone after strange flesh, are set forth as an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire.

Breaking commandment #7 Exo 20:14 and commandment #9 Exo 20:16

Jesus related sexually immortality to breaking thou shalt not commit adultery quoting from the Ten Commandments. And said in doing so one would be sinning and would perish like we see God's Judgement on Sodom and Gomorrah

Mat 5:27 “You have heard that it was said to those of old, ‘You shall not commit adultery.’ 28 But I say to you that whoever looks at a woman to lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart. 29 If your right eye causes you to sin, pluck it out and cast it from you; for it is more profitable for you that one of your members perish, than for your whole body to be cast into hell. 30 And if your right hand causes you to sin, cut it off and cast it from you; for it is more profitable for you that one of your members perish (death like the Judgement of Sodom and Gommorah) , than for your whole body to be cast into hell.
31 “Furthermore it has been said, ‘Whoever divorces his wife, let him give her a certificate of divorce.’ 32 But I say to you that whoever divorces his wife for any reason except sexual immorality causes her to commit adultery; and whoever marries a woman who is divorced commits adultery.

Rev 11:8 And their dead bodies will lie in the street of the great city which spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt, where also our Lord was crucified.

What do both Sodom and Egypt have in common they rejected God. Exo 5:2 again committing sin against God and His law by not only worshipping God, but worshiping their own gods in its place.

Sodom and Gomorrah transgressed the Ten Commandments.

They broke a command, which is not what Paul usually means by "the law."
We should never ignore the context- law is a generic term - the context shows which law is being referred to

Like this…

Rom 2:22 You who say, “Do not commit adultery,” do you commit adultery? You who abhor idols, do you rob temples? 23 You who make your boast in the law, do you dishonor God through breaking the law?

Do not commit adultery and idolatry is found in the Ten Commandments Exo 20:14 Exo 20:4 as is the law Paul quoted that he said is sin when breaking Rom 7:7 as did Jesus Mat 5:19-30

There was no Decalogue in the time of Sodom and Gomorrah.

There was no Decalogue during Sodom and Gomorrah.
God said they started at Eden Exo 20:8-11 right in the Ten Commandments, breaking one commandment, we break them all James 2:10-12 because God said they came in a unit of Ten Exo 34:28 Deut 4:13 Where do the laws they broke that Jesus and Paul said was sin came from- the Ten Commandments. Just because they were not codified at that time, doesn't mean they didn't exist as clearly shown through scripture they did. No law, no sin. You have no proof that committing adultery, lying and worshiping other gods do not come from the Ten Commandments, God said they do Exo 20:3-17 Mat 5:19-30 these sins came from the Ten Commandments that started in heaven 11:19 as Jesus revealed, because that's where sin started 1 John 3:8, no law, no sin. I can't make anyone believe God's personal will and Testimony. I guess we will have to agree to disagree and all gets sorted out soon enough.
