For the most part I'd say no but it really depends. There are several denominations that have pretty similar beliefs to me and I'd be fine dating someone from there but there are definitely denominations that I'd avoid.
Actually, the only Masons that go to any church go to a Lutheran church (sorry Luther), and Shriners I know don't go to church.
explain.I prefer to aviod people who can't think for themselves. There's way too much blind faith among Pentacostal congregations. Pentacostal churches are also predominantly run by Masons.
I actually have more qualms about dating outside my political preferences than I have about dating outside any particular Christian school of thought.
I could deal with Pentecostal, so long as they don't ascribe to the uncommon heresies or practices I have seen in some Pentecostal churches.
.
whats a oneness pentecostal and what do you call a regular pentecostal?ok, since everyone else has weighed in.... I will not weigh in and keep these scales weird.... just kidding.....
If she was Methodist, Lutheran, Any kind of Baptist but Free Will or Landmark, or even Wesleyan as long as she is Conservative in her beliefs (Bible is The Whole Revealed Word of God, Triune Godhead,
Repentance and Faith is all we needed for Personal Salvation(Jesus is responsible, we are wrong, we admit we're sinful, need Him, and go from ourselves to truly follow the one we weren't following), Women aren't Preachers or teachers over men IN CHURCH ONLY(In Accordance with the Bible) but can do anything else anywhere else, etc.....)
Other denominations may be ok, but I don't know enough about Moravian's, and other groups.... like those that go to "Bible Church" some of which are in line with Baptist Theology, and there are other small denominations that talking to some members I might be ok with.... like the one that guy I did a Bible study with in College was from... the name escapes me though......
but Catholics not if it can be helped in anyway, like her becoming a Baptist......
and rather be single forever than go out with to Mormons, Jehovah's Witness, Seven Day Adventists,Oneness Pentecostals and others who aren't Following Biblical Christianity as I have come to understand it.....
and would be friends with, but can't see us getting along so well if we were to date and try marriage; regular Pentecostals, Anyone from the first group that doesn't believe in the basics of the faith, anyone who might fall under that parasol I didn't name....
I could deal with Catholicism, so long as they don't ascribe to "Mary worship" or the deification of the Saints.
oneness pentecostal denies the Trinity.whats a oneness pentecostal and what do you call a regular pentecostal?
yeah but there is a very big difference between pentacostalism and oneness pentacostalismWe are from a pentacostal church and we don't deny it.
the what?oneness pentecostal denies the Trinity.
the what?
then what do they believe??/She is saying they deny the holy trinty. You know Father, Son, Holy Spirit. The blessed 3 in one. God in three forms?
that there is just one person in the Godhead that manifests itself in three different forms depending on what he feels at the moment. as opposed to the Trinity found in Scripture: One God but three different persons, co-equal and co-eternal.then what do they believe??/
Good question, it doesn't say. I went there a few times as a child. I believe they are considered ELCA.None taken, I've never met any Lutheran Masons but I have never met any Mason's period.
I'm curious though, which Lutheran church do they go to? Is it ELCA, LCMS, or WELS?
