Poor can be subjective to you. Whether that means someone who lives off social assistance, is on disability due to mental or physical health reasons, works part time min. wage work or even full time.
Not included in this are men who still live at home, I don't define them as poor as they are not out on their own. Nor do I define poor as someone who is currently pursuing higher education and living off student loans and part time work... as that is more of a rite of passage than anything.

Should be interesting. People can get mad at this thread all you want I'm just genuinely interested in the responses. No anger or angst on my part.

Don't care too much, as long as she's not poor as a result of laziness. Each partner should put in the same work regarding a relationship. Sadly I grew up in an environment where many men worked all day and the mothers stayed at home doing hardly anything. I don't want to end up in that situation. To me that is not respectful at all.

I mean, if she intended to be a quality stay at home mother, that would be nice. Although that can't last forever either.

So once the kids are grown she has to work?

She has to do something. What kind of relationship is it where one person pulls all the weight and other does nothing?

Sadly, this requires a lot of trust. You could divorce her, but that won't end well especially if she's not making a pay check lol.

Yes or no.

I hate this question simply because it misses the bigger issues and questions. It's not if someone has money or doesn't, it's the reasons they are in the situation that would determine if I want to date the person long term.

But if this person is a good fit in other ways, and just happens to work a job that is minimum wage. No, that wouldn't deter me.

I believe in equality. Equal pay for men and women, and equal amount of stay at home dads per mom.

Biologically I don't see how that is ever going to happen, especially for the latter.. lol.

Although I guess more women are going to college.. so maybe they'll make more on average.

This is why we need menisim. If we are ever going to get equality it starts with stay at home dads.

Honestly, I think as a token for wanting equality.. the government should offer free daycare. Including free modes for transportation. Probably best if we phased out stay at home anyone lol.

Such a world you are describing has never existed in history. Proposing such a thing could destroy humanity.

Yeah, we're more technically advanced that any time in human history. I don't see how it'd destroy humanity. Than again, I'm someone who can't really develop deep relationships with other people. So perhaps my idea of sending a children to a daycare sounds cold to others. I just know when I was a kid I was jealous about kids who could go to daycare.. sounded like fun.. yet I missed out. Lol.

AI can take care of the children, lol.

Although getting it back on topic to this thread somewhat.. in 100 years people probably won't have to worry about providing an income anyways.. since advanced AI will be able to give everyone very high end lives for free.

Never said us personally.. although I think many alive now will live much longer than they've ever imagined.

Although speaking of AI, sadly AI is probably going to kill a lot of white collar jobs with things like smart software. Would someone stay married to a career man who suddenly found himself out of work because smart AI suddenly was able to do his job?

Yes provided they have some sort of reasonable game plan to better their circumstance.

Whats smart software? I'm actually afraid if I become a programmer that the skill will be useless in 20 years.
