Yes, it is how we understand the night journey. Muhammad (pbuh) travelled to Jerusalem and then through the heavens. Since masjid al-Aqsa literally means "the furthest mosque" we take it to mean that it was I'm heaven as opposed to Jerusalem. This makes sense in two ways:

1) There were no mosques in Jerusalem at that time.
2) There are mosques further than "the furthest mosque".

The Prophet Muhammad's Journey to Heaven

According to the Islamic legend called "Miraj," the Prophet Muhammad had an experience that is similar in many respects to a near-death experience. Muhammad is said to have ascended to heaven to visit the seven heavens [and, in some accounts, the fires of hell] in the company of the archangel Gabriel. In the Koran, Muhammad's enemies are quoted as saying that they would not believe him unless he ascends to heaven and brings down a book (Sura 17:92-95).

In Islamic legend, Muhammad is reported to have gone on a mysterious night journey into heaven. Islamic sources state this happened "in the spirit," his body remaining behind. In this legend, Muhammad is prepared for his meeting with God by the archangels Jibril and Mikail one evening while he is asleep in the Ka'bah, the sacred shrine of Mecca. They open up his body and purify his heart by removing all traces of error, doubt, idolatry, and paganism and by filling it with wisdom and belief. An animal by the name of Buraq, apparently horse-like and white, and with a human face, was provided for a ride from the mosque in Mecca to the al-Aqsa mosque in Jerusalem, from where he ascended, supposedly on a ladder of light to the seven heavens. In the first heaven Muhammad meets Adam; in the second, John the Baptist and Jesus; in the third, Joseph; in the fourth, Enoch; in the fifth, Aaron; in the sixth, Moses; and in the seventh, Abraham (who welcomed him as "Good son and good prophet").

I will have a look at that link inshaAllah (God willing). I have not heard this before and it sounds extremely sketchy, but I will go ahead and read it. There is a minority of Muslims that believe that the night journey was a dream and not an actual experience, but the majority of us believe that it was a physical journey. I think Ahmadiyyah believe that it was a dream.

The Apostles Advice

I then felt compelled to look at those who were sitting on the thrones we were passing. As I did, my gaze fell upon a man I knew was the apostle Paul. As I looked back at the Lord, He motioned for me to speak to him.

“I have so looked forward to this,” I said, feeling awkward but excited by this meeting. “I know that you are aware of how much your letters have guided the church, and they are probably still accomplishing more than all the rest of us put together. You are still one of the greatest lights on earth.”

“Thank you,” he said graciously. “But you do not understand just how much we have looked forward to meeting all of you. You are soldiers in the last battle; you are the ones everyone here is waiting to meet. We only saw these days dimly through our limited prophetic vision, but you have been chosen to live in them. You are soldiers preparing for the last battle. You are the ones we have all been waiting for.”

Still feeling awkward, I continued, “But there is no way that I can convey the appreciation we feel for you and for the others who helped set our course with their lives and their writings. I also know we will have an eternity for exchanging our appreciation, so please, while I am here, let me ask, ‘What would you say to my generation that will help us in this battle?”

“I can only say to you now what I have already said to you through my writings,” Paul stated, looking me resolutelyin the eyes. “However, you will understand them better if you realize that I fell short of all that I was called to do.”

The reason you must see this particularly about me is that many are still distorting my teachings, because they have a distorted view of me.”

“As you saw the progression in my letters, I went from feeling that I was not inferior to even the most eminent apostles, to acknowledging that I was the least of the apostles. I then saw that I was the least of the saints, and finally that I was the greatest of sinners. I was not just being humble, but I was speaking sober truth. I was entrusted with much more than I used. There is only One here who fully believed, who fully obeyed, and who truly finished all that He was given to do. But you can walk in much more than I did.”

Rediscovering the Foundation

Rather feebly, I replied, “I know that what you are saying is true, but are you sure this is the most important message you could give to us for the last battle?”

“I am sure!” he replied with utter conviction. “I so appreciate the grace of the Lord to use my letters as He has, but I am concerned with the way many of you are using them improperly. They are the truth of the Holy Spirit and they are Scripture. The Lord did give me great stones to set into the structure of His eternal church, but they are not foundation stones. The foundation stones were laid by Jesus alone. My life and ministry are not the example of what you are called to be; Jesus alone is that.

I felt and heard several velvety sonic booms again. My consciousness, or being, was expanding to interface with the entire holographic universe and more.

As I passed into the second light, the awareness came to me that I had just transcended the truth. Those are the best words I have for it, but I will try to explain. As I passed into the second light, I expanded beyond the first light. I found myself in a profound stillness, beyond all silence. I could see or perceive FOREVER, beyond infinity. I was in the void. I was in pre-creation, before the Big Bang. I had crossed over the beginning of time - the first word - the first vibration. I was in the eye of creation. I felt as if I was touching the face of God. It was not a religious feeling. Simply I was at one with absolute life and consciousness.

When I say that I could see or perceive forever, I mean that I could experience all of creation generating itself. It was without beginning and without end. That's a mind-expanding thought, isn't it? Scientists perceive the Big Bang as a single event which created the universe. I saw that the Big Bang is only one of an infinite number of Big Bangs creating universes endlessly and simultaneously. The only images that even come close in human terms would be those created by supercomputers using fractal geometry equations.

The ancients knew of this. They said Godhead periodically created new universes by breathing out, and de-creating other universes by breathing in. These epochs were called yugas. Modern science called this the Big Bang. I was in absolute, pure consciousness. I could see or perceive all the Big Bangs or yugas creating and de-creating themselves. Instantly I entered into them all simultaneously. I saw that each and every little piece of creation has the power to create. It is very difficult to try to explain this. I am still speechless about this.

"Jesus, tell me about this wondrous music all about me. Who is the composer? How is it made? From whence does it come? It is gorgeous!"

I was not disappointed when he began his answer by again asking me:
"Didn't you read my book? Repeatedly it exhorts my children to praise me with music from strings, trumpets, timbrels and voices. It is and was the prime communication of worship and praise and thanksgiving. Since I am the Creator, I am the composer of heaven's music which you are hearing."

Music became the resulting harmony from all of our creations, both of matter and energy. All resonated in unison with us. The elementary form was of and from and in ourselves. I might explain it as a triad of sub-electronic energy particles with and around which We constructed everything in our universe. The wave-forms we called light; whereas the material-forms we called dust of the Earth and water and air. Out of these, and into these, we created animals and birds and fishes and vegetable life to support them. Over these we created a mankind to supervise them as our appointed custodians made in our special image to act for us on Earth!"

Jesus hesitated as I tried to capture the immensity of his explanations.

"You must understand, my son, that original creation mirrored the composition and perfection of Person-God. All creation vibrated in unison with us! There was total accord and harmony everywhere as the whole creation was resonating with and in God!

"Each separate thing or being thus carried out an appointed task in our scheme for the universe. A heaven-form of music resulted as even the stars sang in their appointed circuits. Here in paradise you are hearing these melodious vibrations directly upon your new mind, undistorted. On Earth you heard distorted sounds through the air waves. Throughout heaven the music flows from my throne, uninterrupted, undefiled, and peace-giving."

Jesus paused again.
"My book tells of the time when Lucifer's rebellion in heaven changed some things. He sought to usurp my Father's throne, assume his position as the most high God, and to rule the universe. For that blasphemy Lucifer was cast from heaven to Earth; in fact, I saw him fall as a bolt of lightning! In a tantrum of hate and rage over being deposed so fast he and his fallen angels disfigured our perfect Earth. It became void and uninhabitable. For punishment befitting his enemy of God, Lucifer was given a new name, Satan, since he was the self-appointed "adversary' of the Almighty. Anything that God had made, Satan would attempt to destroy from then on. As Lucifer he had been created the highest angel about the throne, one of his assignments and talents being the chief musician in charge of worship and music. In his rebellious anger he set about destroying harmony on and in the Earth from then on. That is why the Earth where he operates now is out of harmony with God's other creations. In my book we call this disharmony "sin', because it defies God's will that even the heavens declare the glory of God and the firmament show his handiwork.

"But be of good cheer, my son. The Father has permitted me to overcome Satan's world system of sin, and to destroy the works of Satan, and to re-establish righteousness in the hearts of my friends. Before he died Jacob blessed Joseph (48:3) and made Ephraim and Manasseh full-fledged tribes in their own right (48:5-6). Ephraim and Manasseh would become a multitude in the midst of the earth. The name of Jacob would be called upon them and the name of the forefathers Abraham and Isaac (48:16). This means primarily that the essence of the forefathers would be expressed through the sons of Joseph. It has a secondary meaning that the very names would recall the forefathers. Abraham was known as “The Hebrew” (14:13) and the early inhabitants of Britain called themselves and were termed by others “Iberi” meaning “Hebrews”. Names given to the Scythians and to the Saxons who settled England were derived from the name Isaac. The name “Jacob” is recalled in the Union Jack of Britain meaning the Uniting of Jacob, and in the nickname “Yanki” which is short for Jacob.

Joseph received the rights of the first-born (49:26 cf. 1-Chronicles 5:1) and these were passed onto Ephraim who would be greater than Manasseh. Ephraim would become a multitude of nations (48:19), “malo hagoim” (i.e. “fullness of the nations”) and rule over other peoples (Targum Onkelos). Manasseh would also become great after Ephraim (48:19). Jacob blessed all of his sons concerning their destiny in the Latter Times (49:1). Reuben (France) would be unstable and attempt to conquer the Holy Land. Simeon and Levi would be policemen (49:5) like the Irish in America. Judah would keep the law and teach his brethren who would eventually acknowledge the righteousness of Judah (49:8)2. Judah would be like an old lion. Judah (unlike the other tribes) would always be recognizable as descended from Israel. Zebulon would dwell on the seashores (49:13) as the Dutch descendants of the Sabalingoi (“People of Zebulon”) do. Two-thirds of Holland requires the protection of “dykes” to protect it from the Sea. Issachar would be neutral and landlocked in a mountainous area (49:14) like the Swiss. Dan would be a judge of his people (49:16). Gad would become a troop of “Goths” (49:19) who settled in Sweden. Asher would eat dainties and enjoy riches (49:2). Naphtali was to become like a hind in Scandinavia (49:21). Joseph would establish overseas colonies (49:22) and would help Judah re-settle the land. Joseph would have his presence felt in many oceans. Joseph would be blessed with good climate, agricultural plenty and mineral wealth (49:25). Joseph would dwell in separate areas from his brothers (49:26) like the North Americans, British, Australians, New Zealanders, and South Africans do. Benjamin is likened unto a wolf (49:27) which was a symbol of the Normans who conquered England. The son of Manasseh was Machir (50:23) whose name in Hebrew embodies the concept of Capitalism. The name Machir evolved into the name of America. The symbol of the USA is a pyramid which was a symbol of Joseph.

The blessings given unto the forefather had to be fulfilled in the Last Days. The only possible peoples who fulfill all the criteria mentioned in the Bible are the nations of Western Europe alongside Britain and her daughters and the USA.
