Would the rebuilding of the Jerusalem Third Temple stabilize the climate???

Do you believe that God can and will give rain if Jews allowed to observe Tabernacles

  • Yes, this is a small miracle for the God of Abraham.

  • No, age of miracles is over or such miracles are a silly myth.

  • No this would cause WWIII, we'd all die and no rain needed anymore!

  • This prophecy cannot be fulfilled until AFTER Zechariah 14:1 occurs!

  • I am open to the possibility that this miracle could occur!

Is critical thinking really all that difficult?

-CryptoLutheran

Yes!

I am speaking for myself of course....but I began to think a lot about this topic about a decade ago and it has been a real roller coaster ride to attempt to look at all the relevant scriptures in a manner that is both logical and gives to the God of Abraham, the Creator of the Universe the type of confidence and trust that this astonishing Being deserves to be given!!!!!

Matthew 5:18 "For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled."

Um, as far as I am aware the Jews won't rebuild the temple until the messiah comes. So yeah, I don't think they're going to listen to some random nut saying that it needs to happen. Not to mention all the terrorists would blow up in anger (pun intended) if "masjid al-aqsa" was demolished for it.

Note: I put masjid al-aqsa in quotes because I, as a Shia, do not believe that the masjid in Jerusalem is the real al-aqsa. al-aqsa is in heaven, not on earth.

This was something I wasn't aware of. I knew there were lots of differences between Sunni and Shia, but I wasn't aware that the al-Aqsa in Jerusalem wasn't accepted as such by the Shia community. I'm curious when/how this particular difference between Sunni and Shia came about. Does it involve different understandings of the Night Journey?

Yes, it is how we understand the night journey. Muhammad (pbuh) travelled to Jerusalem and then through the heavens. Since masjid al-Aqsa literally means "the furthest mosque" we take it to mean that it was I'm heaven as opposed to Jerusalem. This makes sense in two ways:

1) There were no mosques in Jerusalem at that time.
2) There are mosques further than "the furthest mosque".

Hi Sevaka!

I deeply appreciate your adding comments on this topic from the point of view of a Moslem. I read a webpage several years ago that I personally felt had amazing potential to give Moslems, Christians and Jews some common ground to talk about. It was the idea that the visions of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) were perhaps a form of out of the body or near death experience that are having a major impact on Christianity at this time?!

No. The rebuilding of the Temple will have no effect on the climate. Actually, it might make it slightly hotter, with all the war that will inevitably ensue as the Muslim world takes it upon itself to right the wrong of the destruction of the al-Aqsa. But that's the only effect it would have.

As a MUslim, I do not care if the Third Temple is built, as long as it is not at the Haram al-Sharif, or what you call, the Temple Mount. Historically, the Jewish Temple was never at the current site of the Dome of the Rock and the Masjid al-Aqsa.

Hello DennisTate, I hope you're well.

I will have a look at that link inshaAllah (God willing). I have not heard this before and it sounds extremely sketchy, but I will go ahead and read it. There is a minority of Muslims that believe that the night journey was a dream and not an actual experience, but the majority of us believe that it was a physical journey. I think Ahmadiyyah believe that it was a dream.

I deeply appreciate your taking a look at this Sevaka!

I am at the place where I am wondering if the person who is recognized by Moslems as the Mahdi within a century or two.....is the same person that Christians by then will think of as the final Elijah?????!!!!

Will Jews a century or two in the future view the Mahdi as Moshiach ben Yosef/Ephrayim??????!!!!

Will The Jesus of Islam as foretold by the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) be the same person as the Jews recognize as King David who is raised up for them?????!!!!

Could part of the division between Moslems, Christians and Jews be that we are using different technical jargon and thus have been up until this time been unable to come to the type of agreement that our grandfather Abraham would want us to have????!!!!

There is a brilliant, and I personallly believe inspired writing on a plan for peace in the Holy Land that includes many quotations from the Qu'ran/Koran, The Jewish Bible and from the Christian Bible as well!!!!

God's Peace Plan for the Holy Land
God's Peace Plan for the Holy Land

I thought that the Bermigo Plan was outside the box and rather brilliant really....but this writing is on another even higher level than Bermigo!!!!

I do not think that building a third temple would solve any sort of climate problems. If anything it might start another war.

Over these past few years I have been shown that timing is one of the most important ways in which we must learn to be guided by God???!!! If we do the right thing.....a decade or two too early.....it will be a disaster!!!

There is an ancient story about how 30,000 Ephrayimite soldiers attempted to fulfill the exodus from Egypt several decades previous to the time of Moses/Moshe....and they all died in a war???!!!

Somebody on one of the Judaism forums where I have debated confirmed that his story is backed up in the Talmud!

Greetings Islam_mulia.

I am a Christian who has recently been presented with a powerful case that I am guilty of turning the Apostle Paul into something of an idol. I plead guilty to having done this and I firmly believe as we Christians recognize this error and make some correction our relationship with Muslims and Jews can be dramatically improved!!!!

I have see a powerful case presented several times that the site of the ancient Holy of Holies is quite some distance from the Dome of the Rock. Metaphorically both Christianity as well as Islam are built on top of the foundation of Judaism......and once the God of Abraham helps us Christians to get over our idolization of the Apostle Paul.....we will enter a whole new phase in our relationship!!!!

Lord, save us from people who think they understand the Apocalypse of John and attempt to spread their misinterpretations around to everyone! Never have I been more thankful that this is the one book of the NT that isn't read in the Orthodox Church! It is a book filled with much allegory and the time for some of the prophecies to be revealed isn't now. There's wisdom in refraining from making things fit a preconceived view.

Seashale76....you are correct....there is off the scale danger in understanding the Book of Revelation or even the prophecies of Zechariah in a dogmatic manner!

On the other hand there may be far more danger in not attempting to get people thinking about this option because the cracking and sliding of the West Antarctic Ice Sheet and/or the Greenland Ice Pack does present astonishing danger directly for many nations and indirectly for all 7 billion inhabitants of the earth.

If ocean levels were to rise by one meter and if somewhere between thirty to one hundred million people became climate change refugees from Bangladesh alone........the world would almost certainly be closer to more terrorism and/or warfare between nations??!!

.......Dr. James Hansen has stated that the last time that global temperatures rose by three degrees ocean levels rose by 25 meters over four centuries. Canada and the world are NOT yet prepared for ocean rise of one meter every twenty years.

So again, why does this have to be religious?

How about you know, people support the scientific research to study climate change and mitigate (not stop, we are past that point) its effects? Instead of praying about it, why not....well, do something about it? I agree with seashale, people try WAAAAY to hard with Revelations. I personally am more interested in contributing to solutions. The fact is, Americans (at least) don't like working together for a common good.

The climate has never been "stable". If it ever becomes stable, that will be a first for Planet Earth.

Zoness.....i do believe that there are things that we humans can do that will help to stabilize the climate....but my opinion is that only the Creator of the Universe who organized an infinite number of Big Bang events over infinite time in the past who Mellen Benedict met during his NDE has the power to completely stabilize the climate.......in a manner that is faster and more effective and more economical that anything that we mortals can possibly do??!!

.near-death.com/experiences/reincarnation04.html#a05

Mellen Benedict:

The first time I ran into the idea of the Cyclic Model of the Universe was in Stephen Hawking's Universe, in the chapter entitled The Anthropic Principle. I consider it astonishing how ordinary people can so well describe something along the line of what Dr. Hawking speculated after having a brush with death????!!!!

Beginning some sort of river that cleanses and gives life to rivers and oceans that we have destroyed would be child's play for the type of Being that Mr. Mellen Benedict met during his NDE!

The reason we want to use religion to help solve this problem....is partly because it will cost taxpayers nothing......as long as this is timed in such a way that doesn't start WWIII.

True....the earth has gone through astonishing upheavals. I read that massive magnetic polar shifts may have occurred 171 times in the past five million years.

I am of the belief that these upheavals occurred partly because fallen angels and or human or humanoid creatures were attempting revolts of some type that were offensive to the ultimate creator of all life???!!!

I have reason to believe that we are about to enter an age where we understand about these revolts and the consequences of them which helps humanity to make vastly better decisions regarding how to relate to each other....and to the Creator/creators of the universe!

A Dr. Richard Eby during his NDE was told about the first ever revolt that has set the precedent for all of the others:

http://www.christianforums.com/t7715259/

NDE of Dr. Richard Eby verifies old earth and gap theory.
I was impressed with the explanation given for the fall of Lucifer which would quite possibly fit with an earth that may well be 4.5 billion years old.

Apparently a lot happened between the original creation of the earth and the time when the repairing of the earth was made necessary due to an attempted coup d'etat by Lucifer and the angels who decided to follow him!!

I will reiterate my first point; climate change could be an issue we could tackle if everyone in the US didn't think it was a giant conspiracy to get them to drive smaller, "un-murrikan" cars...

Good point Zoness....but the vast majority of those same people would tend to support the growing of food in desert areas in order to address malnutrition worldwide!

None of the above?

If the Temple were rebuilt it would be about as theologically and eschatologically relevant [for Christianity] as building a new gas station along I-5.

-CryptoLutheran

So then I take it that you would vehemently disagree with the theories of Orthodox Jewish historian Yair DAvidiy that there is some connection between the lost tribes of Israel with America, The British Commonwealth and the nations of western Europe???
