• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Would someone please prove that creationism is not a crock,

Yes --- God uses a four-fold process in getting His Word to us:

  1. Inspiriation --- [creates His Word]
  2. Preservation --- [protects His Word]
  3. Translation --- [updates His Word]
  4. Propagation --- [spreads His Word]
And is this outlined in "His Word" or did you get this from somewhere else?

fossils = proof of evolution

lack of evidence = lack of proof for creation

Its pretty clear what happened; i mean, if they can find artwork dating 20,000 years ago, it doesnt take a genius to figure out that the 7,000 year old earth is false. People were making stone tools and cave paintings way before the Bible was even written.

You be the judge:

1. Inspiration --- creates His Word ---
2 Timothy 3:16a said:
All scripture is given by inspiration of God...
2. Preservation --- protects His Word ---
Psalm 12:6-7 said:
6 The words of the LORD are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times.
7 Thou shalt keep them, O LORD, thou shalt preserve them from this generation for ever.
3. Translation --- updates His Word ---
Psalm 12:6 said:
6 The words of the LORD are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times.
4. Propagation --- spreads His Word ---
Mark 16:15 said:
And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.

Just a couple things:
1. At the time Timothy was written, the New Testament wasn't considered scripture yet.

3. How on Earth did you get "translation" out of that? It's obviously stressing how pure God's word is, never even mentioning translation or "updates."

2 and 4, fair enough.

If Abraham Lincoln would have said, "All bullets are potentially deadly," --- would that include the ones manufactured today?

Correct --- but when "dross" enters the picture --- a refining method is needed.

it would, but he'd be incorrect. I've never heard of anyone killed by a paper bullet. In the same way, what was scripture then is different from what scripture is now.

Correct --- but when "dross" enters the picture --- a refining method is needed.
I am in no mood, AV.

Well, I was close --- I thought someone was going to say "plastic bullet".
I am in no mood, AV.
Good --- then take a course on Basic Doctrine and tell them what you told me.

Well, if a BB hit you in the right spot with enough force you might be in trouble. But in any case, your point has been negated.
Good --- then take a course on Basic Doctrine and tell them what you told me.
I took the full program in prep school. I wasn't impressed. In reality, when things are lost in translation, they're not miraculously "updated," they're lost in translation. The End.

Does Abraham Lincoln have the authority to decide what would and would not come from God?

Correct --- but when "dross" enters the picture --- a refining method is needed.

Be a good boy and come up with one that at least passes the laugh test.

You took the full program in prep school, yet you still ask me this ---
And is this outlined in "His Word" or did you get this from somewhere else?
I'm not saying you didn't take the full program --- I believe you did --- but I have to wonder why you even had to ask me that.

If you disagree with points 1 and 3, why didn't you ask your teacher?

I guess what I don't understand is: are you denying that this is in the Bible, or are you denying that this is taught as Basic Doctrine, or both?

Maybe there is a difference between taking the program, and, being programmed?
