Would it make sense for a gentile to convert to Judaism?

The Talmudic sages which shaped modern Judaism said a gentile who converts was NO DIFFERENT than the native born son. And they (as Jews) alone have the right to say who is a Jew and who is not. (not = gentile)

Then you misunderstand post #9. It is not that the orthodox would treat anyone differently; it is just they do not recognize anyone but themselves to have authority to make conversions.

But once the conversion is recognized, you are the same as a native born.

BTW - among some of the ultra orthodox in Israel, there is a move underway to define Reform and Conservative Judaism as a religion OTHER than Judaism. So it is more of a disdain for the more liberal streams of Judaism, not for the conversion process or the convert. In one sense they are trying to "de-convert" native born Jews from being Jewish.

Before when I didn't know any religion I thought I should start there because I needed to understand the Old Testament first. But before that even happened I already found Jesus and know he is my savior.

But I am curious would it make any sense for a gentile to convert to Judaism? I don't think the Orthodox Jews would even consider them Jewish, read that somewhere but I don't know.

But I am thankful we are not under the law.
I study a lot of the "Jewish" teaching. It is better to stick with a Messianic "Jew". Although someone like Gerald Schroeder is acceptable because of his strong background in science to verify his religious beliefs and teachings. So you have check and balance.

They are amazingly pure though. Not only have they not inner married but there is also not a lot of adoptions or babies from affairs. This tends to work against them because there is a lot of inbreeding and the genetic diseases that goes along with that. There is also a lot of inbreeding with Amish people here in this country and that causes a lot of health problems for them. There is a lot of research in Jerusalem to try to find a cure for genetic diseases.

Obviously not from the passages I posted. "the Jews religion" was not Paul's religion.
Paul was a "Jew's Jew". We could not begin to understand the Old Testament the way he does. Although maybe when we get to Heaven we will better understand.
