Lol, i hadn't thought of your last paragraph. What do you mean by deeming it a gay/queer city? If you mean labelling it as a city where it's reasonably safe to be openly gay/queer, then I think that's already widely known. (There are other cities in the country that are also known as LGBTQ-safe spaces.)
If you mean something like rounding up all the LGBTQ people in the country and making them live in San Francisco, then, no, that's a bad idea. We don't need another Trail of Tears.
Maybe that's why.SF more infamous for its rampant crime, drug addicts and homelessness these days.
It probably has more to do with the tech industry taking over major business developments, raising the cost of living out of reach for 99% of the population so people end up priced out of their homes. If they don’t have the means to move, you find them on the streets.Maybe that's why.
I disagree "hospitable to everyone". Our open borders is a disaster and it will be the downfall of this country. All cities, counties, municipalities, etc. should be queer-friendly. But we don’t need to go claiming cities for specific demographics. It’s a step in the direction of apartheid or reservations. Our country should be hospitable to everyone without cordoning some people off in specific areas.
The free movement of goods and labor is essential to a strong economy of free individuals. Besides, our borders are more secure than they’ve ever been. Anyway, being hospitable to everyone is a good thing. You never know when you’re entertaining angels, after all.I disagree "hospitable to everyone". Our open borders is a disaster and it will be the downfall of this country.
