Hi. I am not a Messianic Jew or Gentile, but I assume you must be well versed in scripture.

What can you tell me about the ancient Hebrew word for 'Today'? The version used frequently in Deuteronomy. I can not help but feeling that there is a significance to the word other than to put into practise what we ought to, today.

My apologies if this is against any rules. I did make a thread called 'today' elsewhere but someone here might be better to answer.

I think "today" is simply the Hebrew word "yom" (day) with the article "ha" prefixed to it (hayom). The KJV usually translates it "this day".

Correct. I spot checked several passages in the NASB where "today" appears in Deut. All were "ha yom," the day.

Yom is day. יְוֹם

It depends upon the rest of the sentence. Hayom means today היום
ha yom ha tze the day the this
hayom hatze is this day ביום הזה
beyom hatze is On this day...ביום הזה
