as I am currently facing some persecution at school (i'm going for massage). the main director is threatening to suspend or kick me out of school if i don't perform energy work on the clients who ask for it. while i understand that the clients have the right to get what they choose, i am very convicted that for me to be doing any kind of energy work is wrong, that it is playing God and would bring down my witness and my relationship with Him. i had a meeting with her the other day where i was almost suspended - she claims to be a Christian but over the months i have been at school i now know that we do not serve the same God. she claimed that i had violated the school contract by refusing a client, and had been intolerant of the client's beliefs, though i pointed out that there are always other students willing to perform those types of massage.
long story short, i am planning on meeting with the other director (who happens to be the first director's husband) to see if there is any way around the threat of suspension/expellment/not graduating. i know in my heart that i can not perform the energy work and be obedient to God... so i know what i need to do but i have to admit that i am scared. please please please pray for me! for wisdom to address this issue, for humility so that i don't make the situation worse, for God to work in the hearts of the directors so that this can be cleared up quickly, and especially for strength for me to deal with whatever consequences may come from this.

update: i did talk to the other director today and he will talk with his wife and see if there is anything to be done. i am feeling a bit hopeless as i know neither one of them really understands (or seems to care) that i can not do this without disobeying what God has put on my heart not to be involved with. but i also know that God can do ANYTHING, even changing the hearts of my directors on this issue. PTL, nothing is impossible with God!

i am from africa and eritrea is one of the most christian persecuting nations. actually evangelicals and other branches are OUTLAWED!! it is crazy over there and we need to pray for them too.

Sister, there are times when God asks us to make a stand so that He can reach into the hearts of those around us.

You are doing the right thing, listen to God and follow where he leads! Sadly that may be away from your chosen education path right now! But when God closes a door, somewhere in the future He has a better plan for you!

Some Satanic rituals get into the health care system, but the Weldon amendment protects the rights of healthcare providers to refuse to do any treatment that offends their sincerely held faith views. And it provides penalties for employers who punish those who refuse. This is federal law. Google the Weldon Amendment for info.

I am sure the same applies to Christian medical students who refuse to perform abortions. You are a student and may have similar protections.
