I posted on another page about worship and didnt get many responses so i'm gonna try here....when you worship are you just singing songs to hear yourself sing thats what i was like the first 1 and a half of serving God now that i am in a praise band i finally realize what worship is ...your just not singing to sing as a body your singing right to your Dad no not your earthly Dad but THE DAD i hope that if you arent in toned with worship or dont enjoy worship that this helps you out a little bit.......

Worship-real worship-comes from within. And yes, many, many people just sing the words to the hymns/praise songs because this is the "sing time" of the service. I have actually heard someone say something like "Oh no-not all 5 verses"! That is NOT worship-they may as well have stayed home.

The Bible says that God seeks those that will worship Him in spirit and in truth. It isn't just the singing, but our whole life that is a worship to God. We honor God with our mouths, the sacrifice of praise, and with our bodies which are a pleasing and acceptable sacrifice to God. We go where He wants and we do the things that He asks about.
"Did you feed me when I was hungry or did you give me clothing when I was naked." Jesus asks about this when He returns, according to the parable, so it is not jus the worship that comes from our lips, but the worship that comes from our lives that we live becuase of and for Him.

I agree with what raphe said. We should seek to live a life that worships God in every aspect with spirit and in truth!
