Over the years I've been with my boyfriend I can truly say he's never gotten a gift from me I didn't KNOW 100% he would truly love!

And I can say the same, I've not received anything from him I haven't loved.


But I've been in relationships where that wasn't always the case.

What's the worst present you've ever received?

Aside from giving me something I already had, I've loved all his presents...I traded that in for something that, if he knew I already had the other, he would have bought me.

Past that ...it's been awesome every year. The guy knows me really well, indicated by the fact we chose the same stuff! :hug: :kiss:

Meh, I found more humor than romance in Pride and Prejudice. It's one of my favorite movies... at least the 5 hour A&E version. Never saw the Kierra Knightly one.

I suck at buying gifts, he just doesnt have enough interests I think. the last thing I bough him was a devotional. I tortured myself for weeks trying to think of something (I even asked for help from you guys), and finally got him something very impersonal, but that you cant help but appreciate. Best I could do. :o Before that I bought him a movie, computer tools, boring stuff, but not terrible. Oh, I also got him a half of a heart key chain with our initials on it, and I have the other half and they fit together.

He buys me great stuf!. Clothes, jewelry, purses, latest novels from my fave author, CDs (back in HS anyway, I just d/l now :sorry:), teddy bear that I still sleep with sometimes (actually its a big red gorilla with a rose in its mouth :hug:I love it).

Worst gift I got? Well how about this. I was with my baby's daddy for over 4 years. Every year I bought him a watch (he had a habit of breaking them) and a video game and taking him out to dinner or something.

He never ONCE got me anything for valentines day. Ever.

Worst gift I've ever given? I always give perfect gifts. I'm a genius at it. LOL

Talking of valentines...
One year I got a bunch of flowers. Well everyone knows you don't buy flowers late on Valentines day because it's always the worst ones that are left.

Well I don't know what time he bought these but when they arrived some of the heads were dropping off the stems or had already dropped off. The petals were brown and wilted and the bunch as a whole looked as though it had been dragged backwards through a bush!

I tried to nurse them back to healthy with no success!
He told me they were crushed by other commuters on a busy train!:| I think it's more likely that he found them on the train! lol

Well, thankfully this gift never happened. I managed to educate my boyfriend...
He has a white fluffy teddy bear that his ex (a kinda psycho girl who he is on very bad terms with) gave him, with a little sound chip in it. She recorded herself singing the 'I Dream Of Genie' theme song, and when you press this teddy's hand, it plays. He had planned to remove the sound chip, stitch it up and give me the teddy as a present. Lovely. Stuck for gift ideas? Nothing says 'love' like a 2nd hand bear that was given to you by a psycho crazy girl who you never want to lay eyes on again.... :idea:

I think there can be some charm in certain 2nd-hand items as gifts. Give me your old shirt to sleep in. Give me the mug I always drink from when I come over for coffee... But a 2nd hand gift from an ex? That's pretty much the worst gift ever!!!

Lucky for me, other than that one idea, my boyfriend's been great with gifts. He likes to give jewellery, and he chooses such pretty stuff!!

I kinda failed him at Christmas last year, but I'm usually a great gift-giver when it comes to getting things for him. I like to get him things when I see them and think of him, so he does very well off me!!
