  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Well Bill!

We are supposed to offer up these things for Holy causes - for our Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of God's Holy Intentions, for all of the Holy Souls in Purgatory, for the conversion of sinners/people/souls to Jesus' Sacred Heart, for all prayers of others, including the Pope, Vatican, religious and Christian clergies with joy in our hearts...no complaint, as we are vacuuming, weeding, gardening, doing the laundry work, sweeping, mopping, dusting, putting out the garbage, cleaning up any dog or cat's doo (if untrained or ill), looking after our relatives/the elderly, running errands for our elderly relatives and others, cleaning the yards with or without dog's business, replacing the light bulbs....all with joy in our hearts for Gods Loving Holy provisions and most importantly...a Thank you to God The Most High for the skills, talents, Blessings, Gifts and Graces He has given us to have a home to do these things!

So...I changed the 'dread' to offering up little things to Jesus/God/The Holy Spirit a long time ago for all Holy causes as I pray through the above with Love and Gratitude to Jesus/God The Most High and The Holy Spirit and to our Blessed Virgin Mary, praying for Her Most Loving Holy Intentions within Her Most Holy Rosary as I clean, therefore I cant vote am sorry Bill!

Love and kindest wishes your Sister in Jesus Christ our Saviour

Goodness.

I think you're taking this waaayyyyyy too seriously. :)

Anyway -

Those who said "other," what is the other? I voted that one and it's grocery shopping. Yes I DREAD it, I don't "offer it up." :) I'd rather do 10 loads of laundry than have to do that once - unfortunately, groceries stores don't deliver!

You just made me grateful for a perk of living here, haha. I hadn't realized grocery delivery services weren't available everywhere. I thought Amazon's service was available nationwide now, though.

Um. As far as awful chores go I don't think I can compare any of mine to what others have to contend with on a regular basis. I basically just have to clean up after myself and keep my own space tidy. I don't mind laundry because I only do my own and I love the way the detergent smells. Dusting is probably my least favorite. My dad grew up on a farm in Ohio and had to wake up before the sun to do chores every morning before school when he was young, and then he went off to a military school (by his own choice) where he had all these other chores to do every single day. It's why he thinks I'm bananas for not sleeping in past six on Saturdays when I have the freedom to, and tries to encourage me to snooze in more while I can.

I have always hated yard work, and I am grateful for my loft space. No yard. I do my own laundry of course but as a result of buying 25% of a janitorial service I ended up with a cleaning service for my apartment and offices as part of the deal. Two ladies come every Friday and do all of my housecleaning chores

The chore I dislike the most is balancing my checkbook and paying bills. It is just tedious.

I'll go with vacuuming (and by association, carpet cleaning) because my vacuum is a heavy thing and awkward to maneuver around furniture.

While growing up, vacuuming was my least favorite chore because i had indoor allergies and always wound up with a dreadfully stuffy nose after the job was done.
Even though i now have an enclosed vacuum, the dread of the job has stuck with me.

I have to say I currently hate yard work the most. It's the one that my poor Mom-body just physically can't do much of anymore. :)

I don't mind bathrooms, mopping, dishes, vacuuming, laundry, grocery shopping or anything else. I can't say I'm amazing at keeping them all up perfectly, but I don't hate them or avoid one more than the others. The yard work? I'd be happy to hire that one out.

Have you ever tried one of the lightweight vacuums by Dyson? They're really nimble around furniture. The one we have upstairs weighs maybe 12 pounds or thereabouts, but you don't really have to lift it anyway because it's so agile. It's much smaller than the other models. I don't know the model name, but it's the one with the purple wheel.

Please excuse my ignorance, but what is an enclosed vacuum? I would think that all vacuums are enclosed....

It is my relationship with Jesus Christ our Saviour, God The Most High, The Holy Spirit and The Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of God (Love, Reverence and Respect for my Heavenly Father and Heavenly Mother!) Mikhael!

...would you care to know more about my own relationship with Jesus/God/The Holy Spirit and The Blessed Virgin Mary which all directly relate to the other reasons in depth as to why I address and post Jesus Christ our Saviour, God The Most High and The Holy Spirit, and our Blessed Virgin Mary's Loving Holy Blessed Names on another Thread other than the mowing and bathroom chore thread?

Good thread but not the thread to discuss God our Heavenly Father's Loving Holy Blessed Names and Holy references.

If you start another Thread I will address your question in depth Mikhael.

Love and kindest wishes your Sister in Jesus Christ our Saviour

an enclosed vacuum is like we have today. but back when i was a youngster my mom used a canister-type vacuum and didn't change the bags very often. as a result when vacuuming in the sunlight, you could see the clouds of dust that followed the vacuum around. So first we vacuumed and then we dusted.

and, yes, a new Dyson stick model is on my dream list!

We haven't done much of our own yard work for a number of years, but when we did I would get terrible sneezing fits and little whitehead rashes on my fingers, even when I used gardening gloves.

I'm pretty allergic. Our yard will never win any landscaping awards, but someone faithfully mows and trims it. Luckily, once the rainy spring has passed, it only needs mowing every other week.

I say anything to do with trying to clean or vacuum my bedroom...and no my bedroom will never be clean. What an absolute hell hole my bedroom is (I am a book hoarder so...). Vacuum never works properly and I can't have it on long because it can overheat quickly and leave a burning smell.

Also cleaning and maintaining a healthy environment for my birds who happen to live in my bedroom. I find myself picking up tiny very fine sized seeds (finch seeds) every single day off my carpeted floor. Very high maintenance animals. Do not buy birds.
