  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Slyvester Stalone; the only half-decent film I've seen him in is Copland. And it was only any good because of guys like De Niro, Harvey Keitel and Ray Liotta. It still baffles me how Rocky got the Oscar instead of Taxi Driver

Russell Crowe, well he was "THE BOMB" in "Gladiator". He managed to play of variety of roles really well, including the brilliant schitzophrenic in "A Beautiful Mind" and the Captain Jack Aubrey in "Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World".

I respect you opinion. :)

and this is my two-cents on russell crowe...every film i've seen with him in it, he's always the same character and i noticed this when i saw the preview for his next film "Cinderella Man." watching this trailer, i felt lik ei was watching Gladiator or Beautiful Mind again. He doesn't have much range as an actor. and plus, i've read countless stories about how he's a jerk off camera to the crew and other actors. They say he's one big prima donna and that really comes out in his acting. But that's just my little opinion on the guy. i still do NOT see how he got an oscar...

Russel Crowe deserved an Oscar for The Insider or LA Confidential more than he did for Gladiator. He was actually required to act a lot more in those two films as opposed to Gladiator where he mostly just went around being gruff and hitting people.

vin diesel.
he was great in pitch black, but only because the role required shouting and a total lack of any human emotion.
could easily replace him with a plank of wood.

i also think that steven segal SUCKS.
he's always playing the same arrogant bleeding-heart-tough-minority-versus-cruel-inconsiderate-land-developers role, complete with subservient token sidekick. if you've seen one of his movies, you've seen them all.

and... relax...

I think Steven Seagal worked for his time, which was mainly in the 80's. A time of great deal of cynicism in America because of the dominance of the corporate culture. So who cared whether Seagal came out with terrible movies that exacted pointless revenge? The fact is I think people enjoyed it at the time because it was a simple way to escape the cynical and increasingly complex world.

[QUOTE=Wroth]I agree with most of the choices here, but two problems - Uma Thurman and Vin Diesel.

Thurman really annoys me, I really dislike her movies and her acting in said movies... just seem so brutal and almost amaturish (I'm talking Kill Bill series - I really hated that series))

I don't understand you're view on Thurman. She's, in my opinion, a fantastic actress. You got to remember that she's not someone who caters to the mainstream audience who like popcorn more than the movie itself. If Thurman is such a terrible actress then why has she worked with top directors like Tarantino? You should try Pulp Fiction if you didn't like Thurman in Kill Bill.
In Pulp Fiction she really shows how to be extraordinary. And she reveals that people like Angelina Jolie are really just fakes. :) :)

-sean penn (ugh!)
-tori spelling
-mackuly culkin (if you ever see "Party Monster")
These are just liberal activist actors. Not bad actors.

Tim Robbins and Sean Penn are incredible actors. Watch Mystic River if you don't believe me.

:O I cannot believe we have come this far in the thread an nobody has mentioned Madonna yet !!!

Sean Penn I believe is a very talented actor, as Sors said watch Mystic River, or I am Sam and then see if your opinion changes.

Halle Berry is not a great actress in my opinion but she is believable-- about as believable as Julia Roberts, who in my opionion isn't a great actress either, but who is believeable in what she does. I would choose someone more like Ellen Burstyn as a great actress.

I STRONGLY disagree. Tobey McGuires awkwardness is perfect for Peter Parker.

And I would have to say Jennifer Love Hewitt. She's hot as hell, but she has done some of the worst movies ever

The Tuxedo, anyone?

EDIT: FYI , Uma Thurman is a screen goddess , there is no denying she is one of the best hollywood has to offer. There is a reason Quentin Tarentino worships her.

Anyone whose gone from singing to acting - Hillary, Lindsay, Mariah, Madonna (although she was ok in Evita and A League of Their Own), etc etc etc...

I'm a big fan of Sean Penn and Tim Robbins - was from Dead Man Walking (ok Tim directed it, but still)... Mystic River just cemented it for me...

I also agree that Hilary Duff can't act, however, I can't go blabbing about that I don't like her, considering my niece is a big fan of hers. Anyway, Vin Diesel...no, he ain't the best actor, but I don't think he's a horrible actor. I do love his voice, though....and...well...we have the same b-day. How can ya'll thinl Tobey M. is a bad actor/Spider-man?? Lol. I love Tobey M. Ah well, everyone is different. About The Tuxedo...my favorite actor (Jason Isaacs) plays in that, so I refuse to say that it's a bad film. Lol. Very dedicated fan. Though I've never seen, I still would never say it's bad. Hehehehe. Anyhow, the worst actors/actress for me are:

~Actors~

Ashton Kutcher
Orlando Bloom (sorry if this offends any Orli fans out there)
Adam Sandler
Elijah Wood
Jim Carrey
Tom Cruise

~Actresses~

Hilary Duff
Keira Knightley
Joely Richardson
Julia Ormond
Jennifer Lopez

I probably have more...gotta think...
