I don't know if other Christians feel this way, but often when i'm singing songs to God, or general hymns, or also praying, i get very depressed. I'm just altogether struck by how unworthy i am and it makes me, not necessarily depressed, just withdrawn. I feel like a hypocrite standing up and singing. I pretty much just want to bow my head and cry. Is this something that other Christians share? :(

Yes I believe it does happen to other christians.
It may be because you are young and have not hardened up yet too.
I always felt like I was under conviction to do more.
I never knew what to do though.
I wish I knew what that feeling was it depressed me too.
I hope you are able to withstand that forboding feeling.
I felt it anyway not trying to tell how you felt but I believe I understand.
Is there anyone in your Church you can talk too?
Hang in there.

a hyprocrite is a person who is pretending to be someone he is not. You are not one. i have trouble sining I surrender all because i struggle with that a lot. praying my morning prayers is a real battle for me most of the time because i feel so unworthy to become God. but i persist because i know it is the devil trying to pshych me out. keep prayaing even when you feel god isn t listening. He is.

Thanks to both of you. The problem isn't that i think God isn't listening to my prayers- it's that i know that he is! I wonder why does God love a sinner such as me. It's a truly humbling thing to know that i am loved by the creator of the universe- it's just that i can't understand why i am. I'm sure that one day i will understand, but in the meantime i will just continue to baffled and in awe of all that God is.

‘For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God (John 3:16-18).’

What was the point of the Son of Man being lifted up? Why did all this come about? How is it that a sinner can find salvation in a look at the crucified One?

Entrance into the Kingdom of God has nothing to do with what you do. It matters little if you have tried to be good, have tried to be a fisher of men, have tried to keep the laws of God, or even if you have tried to believe. It matters not if you have been baptised, have been confirmed, have been going to church, or taught a Sunday School class. But what does matter is that ‘God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son’. That is where the real important matter lies.

This world lies under the sway of the evil one, and its peoples are corrupted by sin. God loves the world. What hope would this world have if God did not love it - surely it would already be destroyed, not a man, woman or child would be left. But it is not so, ‘For God so loved the world’. ‘For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved (Jn 3:17).’

In fact the love of God for this world of sinners is such, that no description of its greatness has been given except by the word ‘so’, and then the gift of His great love is then described. Such a small word, yet it captures a love that is gloriously transcendent and surpasses any love that we can know.

It is a love that is directed toward the world, not just one small group of people that constitute the church, or that makes up the nations, but the world. God loves the world. even in all your wickedness He loves you - not because you have earned it, because you have nothing to offer Him - He simply loves you because He chooses to. Even though he maintains His right and determination to punish the wicked because of sin, He yet loves this world of sinful men, women and children. And it is only the Father’s love that gives this world any hope.

God’s Love Embraced:

How is it that a person gains the benefit from the Father’s gift? Whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. All we need do is believe. To believe is to trust the Lord, to believe that what He has said regarding the way of entrance into the Kingdom is true, and to act upon that belief. In other words, you rest in what Jesus has done as the basis for your entrance into the Kingdom, and that is it. You simply accept the God given plan or method of salvation, forsaking any others you may have heard of, and firmly hold to God’s alone.

‘God so loved the world...’ Yes it does say that, but it also says, ‘that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.’

Yes God loves the entire world, but clearly to enjoy the benefit of God’s love gift to the world you must believe. If you do not believe, though God still loves the world and obviously you, the way of salvation is not yours and you will perish.

Whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.’ This is yours even if you have been the greatest sinner in the world - Don’t despair, for God in Christ has met perfect justice by punishing your sin in the Lord Jesus Christ who became your substitute, suffering the wrath of God in your place.

No matter what the person who believes might have done, what sins you may have committed, no sentence of condemnation will ever be given against you - ‘There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus (Rom 8:1).’

You are acquitted from all sin; you have been pardoned in the Lord Jesus Christ, and delivered from all condemnation.

You shall not perish but ‘you shall have everlasting life.’ Yes we know we still sin, and we know we struggle to believe, and we know we find it tough when we are ridiculed and sick, and we know we find it hard going and are ready to give up at times when things don’t seem to work out for us - Do you believe? Then you shall not perish but ‘you shall have everlasting life.’ ‘And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand (Jn 10:28).’

We gather together with murder on our minds
Nuns are the target Religion is the crime
Driven by lust and deep-seeded resent
Tonight we go and raid the convent
We have come to kill We have come to rape
No one survives No one escapes
Corralling the victims Mephisto grins
This unholy night The massacre begins
Raid the Convent
Avenging all the ghouls and witches
Raid the Convent
Condemned by all these *****es
Raid the Convent
The attack on Catholicism
Raid the Convent
Assailants propagate the schism
The stains of blood from those we brutalize
Adorn the goats and oxen that we ride
We leave the churchyard and start back to the woods
The master cackles as evil conquers good
The onslaught is over The ambush is done
The headless corpses Decapitated nuns
The black white and puddles of red
This flock of ****s is now ****ing dead
Raid the Convent now

Grace is a free gift. Now let go of your doubts and just let God love you. In Him you are holy and a saint, and He has been, and always will be, in love with you.

Whenever I feel depressed about myself, I turn to the epistles of Paul in the New Testament. These letters aren't filled with words like "Oh, you pathetic person" and the like but rather words like "Rejoice!" and "You are saved!" I like that :)

Go with the flow of your tears Tomuea. You weep for two reasons.

1. Because our sin is terrible and we ought to weep.
2. Because your faith is not perfect (yet) and you struggle to believe that God could love you as you are.

Don't let this trouble you. There are many who do not even know they are sinners and therefore do not weep at all. You however realise the terribleness of your sin. This is a good thing. I know it doesn't feel that way at the time but remember Luke 18:9-14. As you pray, confess your unbelief and thank Jesus that he loves you in spite of your lack of faith. He promises in 1 John 1:9 to not only forgive but to cleanse us as well.
You are on a good road and doing far better than you know. :D
Be of good cheer for Christ has overcome and He will see it through to the end for you.
love and hugs
