There's a book called "World at War" I'm not sure who the author is, but it is a very comprehensive history book on everything that happened in the second world war.

It comes with a 26 part video series that is the best WW2 documentary anywhere.....

It's not bad, however there are a number of errors (due to it being old and not having access to recent information). It also carries an amount of bias in it.

I get particularly annoyed when they refer to Australian troops as 'British' troops.

Laurence Olivier just makes the series.....I wish they would do a newer one, they however did interview a lot of folks who are dead now.
